The staff here are very friendly and helpful! There are also a number of eateries and convenience stores, as well as a department stall. The bread shop sells really nice breads, and there's a sit-in option too. On both exits of the stations you can find Lawson, but the exit beside 7-11 leads you to the bigger Lawson and its only a few steps away. The underpass leads you to the other side, where Daimaru is. You can also get to the sand dunes from this station.

The conductor's service was amazing!!🥰 Today, I took the Super Hakuto on my way from Himeji to Tottori, combining a solo trip with a trip back home. I overslept in front of Tottori Station and was panicking, but the conductor, Mr.Urakawa helped me out. He explained to me clearly and efficiently what time the train would arrive, how to transfer to get to Tottori Station, which exit to use, the waiting time, and what to do if I missed the first train, so I was able to arrive safely. I felt secure and comfortable afterall. As this was my first time going to the area, I was very happy and grateful that he was able to help me right there and then. This was my first time using the Super Hakuto, but it was easy to buy tickets at the station and the ride was extremely comfortable. The view from the window was also wonderful, so I would like to come again with a friend. I'm very glad I used it this time. I'd like to use it again. 車掌さんの対応が素敵過ぎました！！ 本日、ひとり旅行と帰省を兼ねて、姫路から鳥取へ向かう道でスーパーはくとを利用しました。 その際鳥取駅の前で寝過ごしてしまい、パニックになって居たところを車掌の浦川さんにご対応して頂きました。 何時にこの電車が着いて、どう乗り換えたら鳥取駅に着くか、どの出口が良いか、待ち時間や万が一次の電車に乗れなかった場合などテキパキと分かりやすく説明して下さったので無事にたどり着くことが出来ました。 初めて行くエリアだったこともあり、その場ですぐにご対応していただけたのがとても嬉しく頼もしかったです。 スーパーはくとは初めて利用しましたが、駅での切符も買いやすく、乗り心地も抜群でした。窓からの景色も素敵だったので、次は友人と来たいと思います。 今回利用してみてとても良かったです。 またお願いいたします。

You can take the bus to the sand dunes from here. You can also buy the ticket for the sand museum here for a cheaper price. The staffs here are pretty nice. If you are lucky, there is a conan theme train that goes to the conan station (based on the anime).

I explained to the station master that I had traveled from Yonago via IC card to Kurayoshi and paid the fare by cash instead.

I traveled to Tottori to get the card reset for reentry but I was forced to pay the fare again.

I did not have any issues at the other stations in Tottori / Shimane so this is rather appalling.

If this is the trouble I need to go through then you should do away with accepting IC at specific stations...
