Come with us as we spend 3 days in Aomori, Japan! SAVE + SHARE our 3 day itinerary: Day 1 Arrival in Towada City via Shinkansen train from Tokyo. Visit to Towada Art Center. Check into our hotel for two nights, the Hoshino Resorts Oirase Keiryu Hotel. Dinner at resort. Day 2 Oirase Moss Ball making workshop. Lunch at Ortolana, a pizzeria. Visit to Towadako Shrine and boat tour of Lake Towada. Dinner at hotel. Star-gazing experience at Tsuta Onsen Ryokan. Day 3 Back to Lake Towada for a nature walk and lunch at Towada Prince Hotel. Visit to the Nebuta Museum WA-RASSE. Apple pie tasting at A Factory. Airport to catch our flight back to Tokyo. While our visit to Aomori was short, it was definitely sweet and I recommend adding it to your Japan travel list! What a great way to spend an afternoon. Visiting is a thought provoking, tactile, auditory, and visual experience that will capture your imagination. I left with a new appreciation for modern art. Permanent and special exhibits were simply amazing as is the public art surrounding the museum. There are surprises around every corner. In true Japanese style the hospitality was top notch. Parking is validated with admission and located a few blocks away. If you’re planning a trip to Aomori I definitely recommend planning a couple hours to visit. Leave the young kids at home, this one’s for grown ups.

As you drive past it, it immediately draws you in... making you want to explore more ! I won't have many spoilers, but just go enjoy the artwork and the view ! A few interactive displays. Workers in every main attraction to assist and watch each artwork. Very nice to explore ! Edit 3 months later: Whenever I look back on this, I know towada art center is a place I will return to. It's always an experience, and I appreciate the arts. Be sure to look out for their signs ! Last picture is why I'm grateful we explored everything ! Nice little Cafe at the end of the museum with a little shop like a mini boutique. I got a few apple space themed postcards to send out to friends or family. It has a huge window to look at the other displays outside. I am hoping to visit during the winter if I can brave the snow if it's good to me ! Lol For parking, I went down their street (between the art center and the firestation) to use their parking lot (they give you a validated parking ticket for an hour I believe when you purchase your admission ticket. It had cute little pigeon statues on the garden beds. 100% would recommend. We visited after the sakura yabusame. So glad we did ! 車で通り過ぎると、すぐに引き込まれてしまいます...もっと探索したくなります。 ネタバレはあまりしませんが、絵と景色を楽しんでください！ いくつかのインタラクティブなディスプレイ。 各主要アトラクションのスタッフが各アートワークをサポートし、鑑賞します。 探検するのはとても楽しいです！ 3 か月後に編集: このことを振り返るたびに、十和田市現代美術館は私にとって戻ってくる場所であるとわかります。 それは常に経験であり、私は芸術を高く評価しています。 ぜひ彼らのサインに注目してください！ 最後の写真は、すべてを探索できたことに感謝している理由です。 博物館の端にある素敵な小さなカフェ。ミニブティックのような小さなお店があります。 友人や家族に送るために、リンゴの宇宙をテーマにしたポストカードを何枚か入手しました。 大きな窓があり、外の他のディスプレイを見ることができます。 雪が降っても大丈夫であれば、冬に訪れたいと思っています。 笑 駐車するために、私は彼らの通り（アートセンターと消防署の間）を通って彼らの駐車場を利用しました（入場券を購入するときに、確か1時間有効な駐車券をくれました。そこにはかわいい小さなハトの像がありました） 庭のベッド。 100%お勧めします。 桜流鏑馬の後に訪問しました。 本当に良かったです！

This place is great for the family, there aren’t a ton of awesome options in the area but this spot is worth the visit. During the winter you can see the blue LED lights displays with works of art among them. The pictures don’t do it justice you must see them! The museum itself is fun and there’s another one across the street you should check out too.

A bunch of large-scale installation art pieces by internationally known artists. Really unique space. Larger collection than I thought before entering the museum. Some artworks are also outdoors. Spent a few hours here. Majority of the gallery spaces and the cafe were ground-level. I noticed a wheel-chair user visiting the museum.

Description
The Towada Art Center is an art museum in Towada, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. The museum was opened in 2008 as part of the Arts Towada Project, in an effort to revitalize the city. It features works from artists both inside and outside of Japan, including Yoko Ono, Yoshitomo Nara, and Jeong-Hwa Choi.
