Benkei-Nanamodori — Attraction in Tsukuba

Apart from being an option for a resonably short hiking session, if you are in for great views, this is the place to go! If you don't feel like hiking two hours to the shrine there is also the option of taking the lift. I would however advice taking the long route, since the trail from the lift station to the shrine is one of the most fun and beautiful hiking paths, that I experienced in Japan so far.
