A castle ruin away from urban jungle.

A small solemn yet appealing attraction out of the city. Quiet, peaceful but beautifully preserved with stunning view of Nara. The intricate stone walls made by skilled masons was admirable in its own right. Very few visitors around probably due to its hidden location from downtown Osaka. There’s a coffee shop within and the outdoor tables are so relaxing and pet friendly too!

Can be reached via Kintetsu-Kashihara Line and get off at Kintetsu-Koriyama Station west exit. From here use Google map and follow the direction on foot...

Went on a Sunday during cherry blossom season, while there’s a Castle Festival, lots of locals camping under the trees & kids playing around, lots of food stalls & super crowded.

Eating, drinking, hanging out, & chilling with family & friends, as how a Sunday should be. For foreign tourists, if you want to avoid the crowds, better go on a weekday. Castle is nice but really not that much to see or history to...

It’s a leisurely stroll through castle grounds with a beautiful view of Nara City. The cherry blossoms are not yet blooming but it’s still pretty beautiful here. There’s a spring festival with lots of yummy food and activities for children. At night the lanterns are very pretty. Parking is free at the back. There’s an entrance from the back as well through the...
