A good alternative beach for summer. The swimming and sand area is quite limited compared to others but a nice quiet beach nonetheless. You can enjoy it with peace on weekdays as there aren't as many people going nowadays. The ocean was much clearer/cleaner than the Shonan beaches, however there is still some plastic on the beach and in the water which needs cleaning up.

横須賀の小さなマイクロ海岸。 久里浜駅から徒歩だと30分以上かかる。 季節には道すがら桜を楽しめる。 海水浴というよりは、ちょこっと波打ち際を歩くのに向いている。 東京湾フェリーが入出港するのが見られる。 夏は砂浜の西端などでバーベキューをする輩が増える。 東端の堤防では釣りをする人がいる。 両方とも禁止のはず。 40年前はキスやメゴチやタコが釣れたが、大規模なコンクリート埋め立てによりほとんど釣れなくなった様子。 砂浜からボートで釣りにも出られたが、埋め立てで航路が狭くなり、フェリーとぶつかる危険が大きいので無くなった様子。

A small beach with mostly families or groups of friends doing barbecues on the weekends. The sand is alright, there are a lot of little stones and shells mixed with some fine sand, and the water is clear for the most part but there is often quite a bit of seaweed. Overall not a spectacular beach, but for those living near Kurihama station, this beach is a short walk away and isn’t too shabby for just lounging around...
