Umikaze Park — Attraction in Yokosuka

We decided to celebrate the Halloween out at the park . Finally we found UMIKAZE . Umi means sea and Kaze means wind. Thought must be cold but it was not as we were there in October 30th. We had two tents , Halloween stuffs and lot of food and sweets. Forgot to take the water. But we found a very convenient park with the provision of several toilets , tap waters also the sinks to wash the dishes. We came to know that it’s okay to organize bbq there. Very close there are many best places like home center , big mall , the beautiful sea and Astonishingly skate park , bicycle park and tennis court too. Parking fee is 640¥ per day. Ample parking lot . Ambiance is attractive as well, so I could see many people with cameras. Recommend to have a day fun. Choose the sunny day and get some Vitamin D. We got a nice place beside the old preserved long White House structure , very close to the parking lot where we parked our cars. We decorated the surrounding a bit and had delicious food ( home made) . After that we did some games and let our kids go around for trick or treating . terrible experience..I came late around 10pm and stayed over night left early morning got charged for two whole days so double for parking! They turn off the lights at 11pm and it was total darkness fishing...every other cast was a snag due to people's line left in the sea! Didnt catch anything so was a complete fishing disappointed. Toilets were horrible and there is no place to wash equipment after fishing. Was looking forward to this spot due to the reviews but I guess it's 4 stars due to the basketball and skateboard ground ..but only fishing it was horrible..won't be going...

毎年開催のよこすか開国花火大会日🎆（35分間に約一万発！）は、屋台・出店がたくさん出店されていて、多くの人出で賑わう場所です。

テニスの壁打ち、スケボー、BMX！Bicycle Motocross（バイシクルモトクロス）の練習出来るスペースがあったり（エネルギッシュな若者達の憩いの場）、広大なスペースに魅力的なスポットがたくさんありますが、特にイチオシが「バーベキュー広場」です🍖🍗🥩

広場の利用料は無料。器具をレンタルしたい場合は敷地内の管理事務所に予約を入れます。場所取りは各個人が先着で自由です（無人の場所確保はNGで、常に誰か1人でも居座っていればOK）

トイレが公園各所にたくさんあって助かります。水場にも困りません(特にバーベキュー時) 困ったら管理事務所に直ぐ駆け込めます😅 東京湾の景色と海、行き交う船たちを眺め、 心地良い海風を浴びながら、ホントお気軽にバーベキューを楽しめます👍 初心者の方などは、もうこれ以上ないシュチュエーションのスポットと言えるのではないでしょうか。

駐車場は、割と早い時間帯で満車になってしまうので、その場合は、周辺大規模商業施設の島忠さんかノジマモールの駐車場🚘がオススメです（どちらも縛りなしの無料駐車可能😁）

それから南東側周辺に「海釣り公園」もありますが、このうみかぜ公園エリアの海岸も岸壁になっています。なので、ルアー・ウキ・投げ釣りなども楽しめます。それから公園内、花火は一切禁止なので注意してください。

《ちょっと脱線話し》 私がまだ幼児の頃（55年前頃） 大津町に住んでいたんです …(^^)

メガネ屋さんのある国道16号と134号線がぶつかる大きな交差点「大津」の直ぐ脇は、全部海で岸壁でした（ケンタッキーの場所も海でした） そのラインから平成町エリアは全て東京湾💦 大津・馬堀シーハイツ、馬堀海岸団地方面のエリアも東京湾。よこすか海辺ニュータウン等のマンションも県立福祉大学も何もありません。ぜ〜んぶ海でした😆 全て埋め立て地ですね(@ @)

京浜急行線の横須賀中央駅から、下り線で浦賀・久里浜方面へ電車がトンネルを抜けると、当時、高い建物がほとんどありませんから、東京湾、猿島、遠くに房総半島と臨めて、青い海と空がキレイなパノラマ光景となった車窓が、目に飛び込んできたことを思い浮かべるとホント懐かしいですね〜 (ﾟ´ω`ﾟ)

半世紀以上経って、横須賀市の東京湾沿いは素敵な街並みに生まれ変わりました（横須賀市民として感無量です😂）

うみかぜ公園周辺は、大小様々な商業施設、スーパー・飲食店・レストランと、豊富に存在していて、便利に1日じゅう過ごすことが出来ます。公園含めた周辺地域は、ずっと平坦地勢なので、自転車移動も快適ですよ。
