Gala is a fun place to visit with older children or adults. There are several shops, places to eat, and crafting/make-your-own opportunities. You can refine your own salt, blow glass, and make and paint pottery, among other things. You can also book snorkeling and diving trips from here. The only downside is that the salt factory and museum are super small--you can see the whole thing in 10 minutes. But if you are looking to see all the sights, eat, shop, and do an activity, you can spend a...

A family friendly area. A nice place to chill or walk around outdoors and enjoy watching the sunset, to take any kind of outdoor or beach-type photos, or enjoy the many different food and drink options there are offered. Nearby large grassy areas available to enjoy a picnic, to enjoy the weather, or to just walk along some trails.

There are a few beach outlets accessible. Some rocky and steep paths to the beach outlets, but it’s worth it if you can manage. The beach was clean...

Before coming to gala, we went to Onna glass factory to make our own glasses. We regret. Because gala is more professional and even cheaper, the service is great and people are so nice, not to mention it's even cheaper. We visit the salt museum and see how they make salt. Very interesting and then of course we eat salt ice cream and salt cookies. All in all, it's a nice place to spend 2-3 hours for.

Off the main tourist areas, we were snorkeling in the area and decided to drop by since it was only a 10 min drive. Spectacular views of the ocean! It's soooo blue and absolutely beautiful! It's free to take a tour of how they collect the salt (i feel it's gimmicky) but you'll have to pay around 500-800¥ (i think) to go down and look at their sea life.
