Actually is the museum to be found next to Aqaba castle, but the archeological site is further to the north on the sea side opposite to the Aqaba Gulf Hotel. The site is still under excavation but it is allowed to enter and the sign tell you the story of the lost city of Ayla. This was the name of the town before Aqaba.
