Ocean — Restaurant in Aqaba

The worst place in Aqaba, even the worst place in all of Jordan, we went to the restaurant at 19:00 local time, we were 5 females, at first we waited like 10 minutes to be seated at a table even though the restaurant wasn't crowded or stressful, it was almost empty of customers. Then we waited another 10 minutes just to order from the waiter. We waited almost 20 minutes for the appetizers to be brought to the table, we ordered Fattoush salad, Tabbouleh salad, Baba Ghanoush, Hummus, the restaurant's special salad with seafood, Caesar salad... Not all the appetizers were brought at the same moment , some didn't even come at all, we asked what about tabulah and cesar salds, why they didn't bring it after almost an hour and they excused themselves by saying that these salads weren't available. After bringing the appetizers for about 20 minutes, the main courses were brought, we ordered 4 Sultan Ibrahim fish, half a kilo of fried shrimp, 700 grams of grilled lox and half a kilo of oysters, the food came very cold!! The lox was completely leathery and almost burnt, the shrimps were almost re-fried behind other people and were tough and tasteless, the oysters were half cooked, the only thing that was semi-acceptable on the table was the sultan ibrahim fish although we suspect it wasn't the type of fish we ordered and was fried in very bad oil! We really couldn't eat any of what we ordered and tried to wait for someone in charge or and manger to complain to ...maybe they would improve or compensate us, during our long wait most of the people sitting in the restaurant were complaining and almost all of them had the same complaint as us, no one was happy and we understood that we were like many others we couldn't bear it and continue sitting we tried to ask for the bill after half an hour until they brought it we were surprised that the bill was relatively very expensive for such poor and bad food and treatment, the bill was around 170 Jordanian dinars!! And it included the service charge, meaning we were forced to pay the service charge. We tried to complain to the person in charge, but he ignored us and just said, “Okay, okay.” He didn’t even show any interest in our complaint or even try to listen. He didn’t even try to improve the service or compensate us. We left at 21:25, which means we wasted two and a half hours and lots of money in a bad place. Disastrous experience at this so-called seafood restaurant. From the moment we arrived, everything went downhill: frozen dishes, no freshness or flavor, served ice-cold as if straight from the freezer. The whole fish was literally cold, and the fries had a rancid taste — clearly reheated or fried days ago.

The menu photos are completely misleading — what we received looked nothing like what was shown. We ordered two seafood buckets and ended up with tasteless, disappointing food with no fresh aroma or appeal.

Worst of all was the service: we waited over an hour, and dishes were brought one by one every 20 minutes. No coordination, no respect for the customer. And despite this, the prices were outrageously high, completely unjustified for such poor quality.

The place looked nice inside so my husband and I were excited to try it out for date night. We were extremely disappointed by the way we were treated coming in having not been greeted or even spoken to by a server until we engaged conversation asking for a table and getting a menu alone took 15 minutes after we were seated again not a single server said anything to us. They came by so fast with water and plastic cups we didn’t get the chance to order and when we tried getting their attention we were ignored several times. After finally ordering it took almost an hour to receive our food and drinks and the food was terrible it was all so dry and the fettuccine wasn’t made properly the noodles and shrimp were so overcooked and dry.
