The park was originally a roller skate rink. Bunch of local skateboarder been skating here since the early 90s. The surface were rough and destroy your board quicker than you think. But thats not an excuse that you cant skate here. Imagine after 30 years, lots of cracks and hold here and there. As i said, that doesn't u and me from skating. The local community been trying to upgrade the park with some help from the city council but they (MPAJ) built ramp without consult any of the skaters there. So most of the ramps were wrongly made, wrong specs radius and not safe to skate. Beside those weird wrongly ramp obstacle, the local decided to built their own thing which are more skatable. It's divided into three sections, which is great—it helps reduce overcrowding and keeps skaters of different skill levels from getting in each other's way.
If you're just starting out, AU5 is a great place to learn and build confidence. But for more advanced skaters, the obstacles might not offer much of a challenge. Skateboarders, BMXers, inline skaters, longboarders of every level are very much welcomed. Facilities include: -Smooth cement for comfortable riding -Plenty of beginner-level rails and ledges for those who are new to action sports. -China bank. -One ledge for intermediate skaters. -Three 1-metre high embankments. -Miniramp -A 2-metre high quarter pipe, with a slanted ramp next to it.
