we arrived late 5 mins and missed our booking at 12pm. Was kind of disappointed as we planned to visit skybridge. We waited 2 hours before the next round begins. It was quite rush to skybridge. At first i booked the little leadge but was recommended to upgrade to extreme. My kids were keen and saw the little leadge was way too easy and mend for little kids. I skip two climbs and those with balancing. It was quite changelling for me to complete the balancing part, where I hurt my arm and my feet got stuck while trying to cross over. That day, they were short handed. Before me, a young girl had to skip shortly after we begin. There are guides around but not possible to stick around with you as there are many visitors and also depending on the pace of individuals. For extreme package, it involves few section of climbing all the way up as high as a tree, and you can overlook some view, it get harder on second and third climb. If you are a sporty person, it would be exciting. I would recommend to try the in between package instead if you arent a sporty person. Although I skipped two climbs and those balacing part, I enjoyed the zip line and its awesome. After you reached a certain point, its zipped line all the way... Do bring along your water bottle because you would need it. I didnt bring mine and I was dying for water. The counter staff is patience and friendly. The guide who taught us was friendly too. But the staff who was guiding us, really depending on individual. Demo are demostrated only once and you need to get use to learn how to use the garget. Once demo finished, you are on your own, get help when you really need to. You are very much on your own. But guide will come when you are stuck,, like me. At the last end, i got phobia trying the rope looking thing and no way to skip. And I hold up everyone and jam up. The guide quicjkly came and demo for me and guide me through. Well, the last rope wasnt like the swinging one I tried so,,, it was very much reassuring. I was glad to have gotten over with that. I got height phobia but the zipped line was wonderful. I discovered that I enjoyed trekking when I had to skipped few stations, and need walk through the wood. It was...
Read moreSkytrex is a lot of fun, but a couple of important things to note before you go:
You need to be at a good fitness level to do this. Most of the obstacles need upper body strength and balance- Im a regular gym goer but still found it quite tiring! Definitely get the gloves to prevent chafing. Although a pain to carry around, I would recommend bringing an empty backpack with some water or 100 plus/electrolyte drink. After 1.5-2 hours doing this course in the heat, I was feeling light headed. Don’t underestimate the heat. Rethink the course level if you are bringing teens/children. Depending on their height/fitness level/fearlessness, the course can be scary due to the elevation from the ground. There were 3 kids between 12-15 yrs old, and they were too nervous to get past the first obstacle and had to turn back. Waste of money for them. There are checkpoints to drop off the course, but note that you have to trek down the mountain (which can be dangerous for kids). My friend twisted her ankle coming down as there was no proper trail and the route was full of rocks.
Note to Skytrex organisers: Thank you to the lovely intern who helped us down the mountain when my friend twisted her ankle. We didn’t catch your name but we really appreciated the help! It would be great if you could make the trail down the mountain a bit more walking friendly (I.e. add some rope or some planks to walk on), especially for people who injure themselves. I don’t know how you manage serious injuries, because you have to trek over a little waterfall to get back to the base, which is not very convenient if someone is injured. You should probably have some ice or cold spray available on site (even to purchase). After my friend twisted her ankle, I had to drive to cenang to get ice as none of the nearby shops were open, while she was in pain. Having some basic first aid on site...
