Place where you find the skycab (langkawi cablecar) to take you up to the middle station where the eagle nest is and then to the top station where the langkawi skybridge is.
Oriental village has a big parking area right infront of it. Categorised into privileged parking 1, standard parking 2 and 3. Pricing is slightly different and I have included in my photos. I parked in standard 2, paid RM5 for about 3hrs there.
The village itself has a big pond in the middle with bridges, sheltered pavillions, retail and eateries around the pond.
Many food choices including subway, cafes and a food court.
Retails including famous brands, langkawi merchandises, clothes and others.
Toilets here require a 50sen per entry use.
There is a mini london bus ride that has 2 stops. 1 near the privilege parking and the other nearer the food court which is on the other side of the village closer to the drop-off points for taxis, e-hailing and tour buses. Pricing included in a posted video.
Skycab is located in the middle towards the left side if you are coming from the carpark while if you are coming from the drop-off points for e-hailing rides/bus tours, it will be on your right.
Nice place to hang out before or after your trip up to the skybridge. There is a fish feeding spot where you can purchase fish feeds at RM1 per pack for the fishes in the pond.
Not recommended to come if you are not planning to head up...
Read moreYesterday, my wife and I visited the Oriental Village in Langkawi, and it was an unforgettable experience! We rented a scooter for a couple of days, and the ride itself was absolute cinema! The road to the village felt like paradise, surrounded by lush greenery and even monkeys chilling by the roadside. We stopped halfway to soak in the indescribable scenery—it was magical.
At the Oriental Village, we booked the full admission to try all the activities, especially the cable car ride, Eagle Nest at 2000ft, and the Sky Bridge at 3000ft. Unfortunately, due to bad weather (strong winds and rainfall), the nest and the Sky Bridge were closed. However, we did get to enjoy the cable car ride, which was amazing despite going through the clouds and missing out on the views from above. Riding through the mist felt surreal and added to the thrill.
We also tried the 6D Cinema, Sky Rex, and Sky Dome, but to be honest, these were quite disappointing. They feel outdated and don’t add much value to the experience. I’d highly recommend visitors to focus on the cable car ride instead and save their money for other activities.
Overall, it was a fantastic trip, and despite the weather and some underwhelming attractions, the Oriental Village remains a must-visit spot in Langkawi. Just riding up and experiencing the cable car is...
Read moreI came expecting a decent walk and scenery in the town. I don't know how this place is so highly rated but I'm sorely disappointed.
Just look at the photos. Dilapidated buildings are just left there, even the locks are heavily rusted. The pond is poorly maintained with too much overgrowth on the water, it's unsightly. Broken boats and trash also along the river. There were some decorations, but poorly maintained. They mostly look weathered; discoloured/dirty props don't really make photos look good...
It's deserted on a weekday to say the least, so rest assured you can walk peacefully here.... under the scorching sun or heavy rain. Okay that's not by choice of the management, sure, but just note there's barely any shelter outside the small shops.
Some souvenir shops were just shamelessly selling toys from China, I could even see the Chinese labels and factory of origin. Overall pricing and choices are nothing to shout about -- the only thing I loved about them was the air-conditioning, a saving grace from wrathful nature. Food and drink choices were also nothing to shout about.
This being one of my first visits in Langkawi really set my bars real low, so I guess that kinda helped me think more highly of the rest of...
