It's a historical place of Lukut. DO NOT come here if you have no interest in history and end up giving low rating. You will see nothing if you don't know how to appreciate history. For those who understand, and value the effort of the authority who did their best to maintain the place without any fee required from the public, please come and support this place. It's beautiful to my eyes and very informative. Do you know that Raja Jumaat built/designed the Fort of Lukut? Come and see how systematic it is. It was even recognized by British resident in the 19th century. Being Malaysian, I am proud of the work done! KL citizens must be familiar with Raja Bot because it's the name of one of the street in Chow Kit. He is the son of Raja Jumaat and was the last ruler of Lukut before it fell under the control of Sg. Ujong. Interesting? Then it's a must for you to come! (Sorry, not many photos inside the museum, my phone was overheated due to the hot sunny day). Oh, one more, please bring drinking water because it can be an exhausting climb. There's no stall or vending...
Read moreVery quiet place. Nevertheless we spent almost 3 hours at the museum and also at the fort.
The museum offers lots of insight on what Lukut was like in the past. Very historical and informative. Airconditioning works great on a very hot day. Most artifact displays are real stuff but one needs a bit of patience to read its description to know and understand what it is all about. That was probably why we spent more time in the museum.
The fort however was a big open space with its visible parameter wall at certain corners. Very little remnants of an old palace left to see. The area has an eerie feeling even during the day and I distinctively encountered a few moments of creepiness at certain parts of the palace area. Lots of dogs come here to lepak probably because of the trees that offer them shade and coolnes.
Could be a metal detector hunters heaven but not sure if one is allowed to...
Read moreIt's a popular jogging area complete with tracks. I was lucky to see a different species of monkeys, darker than the normal ones with white circles around their eyes. If one were to zoom in on the photos of branches, one could see it clearly. I was not able to snap pictures of what everyone calls the flying squirrel. They are 5 times the size of the normal brown squirrels. They are almost black with white around their eyes. I do not think you have to pay to come up here. I am not sure about having to pay at the...
