After reading so much bad reviews about the dining experience at the Lucky King Bun restaurant, I have to be clear that this review is my experience for the --Giant Buns with Curry fillings--, and NOT the Chinese restaurant. I was made to understand the --Giant Buns-- is just an exclusive stall rented to the Giant Buns to sell their Giant Buns. I certainly for one who do not support poor behaviour or bad customer service by restaurant operators towards diners. From what I read, the restaurant operator uses the popularity of Giant Buns to lure diners to the restaurant.
Now the Giant Bun Review. The king-sized bun filled inside with chicken curry, cooked with half a chicken cut in small pieces and wrapped in baking paper and aluminum foil. The bun is baked to perfection, with a fluffy and slightly sweet texture that pairs perfectly with the rich and flavorful curry that is thick, hearty, and packed with fragrant spices that will leave your taste buds dancing with joy. The combination of the curry and the bun creates a harmonious blend of flavors that is simply irresistible.
Quoting a few reviewers, best to take-away and consume at home to fully enjoy the bun (to avoid hacking or being charged by restaurant operator to consume in-house).
A good gift for family members or friends. Ideally, to consume on the same day of purchase. Bun and curry is enough to...
Read moreThis place has expanded since the last time I came, I recommend coming here with small groups as it's always packed during meal hours. Staff are very attentive. Place is cooling, the curry is not very spicy and not not spicy (in other words, it's perfectly balanced) the bread is not underbaked or over baked (it's the perfect bread texture) but at the bottom of the "bowl" is still very doughy (I wouldn't say it's not edible, it's just not satisfying to eat). And also try their dishes. Their pork with yam slices are good and tasty. Their Chinese fried rice has a lot of flavours. Overall it's a great place to eat, and if you still have some room left in your stomach, head out to the durian lorrys parked by the road side (I wouldn't recommend going to the one directly infront of the shop, head further down the shops [when you're facing directly out from the shop] to the right and go to the durian lorry with a sign board with a red skin durian on it, he offers tasty durian with a great and reasonable price.) And if you still have more time, head down to Port Dickson beach and look around for a boat ride, 1 guy (he had a boat with a roof, and he had a banana float that can fit about 8 people) offered us RM15 per person for 1 ride. Try to find him, he's awesome. I hope you enjoyed my review and my "what to do in PD after eating the...
Read moreI went to Lucky King Bun for lunch with my family and we had a satisfying meal. The restaurant is famous for its giant curry chicken bun, which is a huge bun filled with curry chicken and potatoes. The bun is soft and fluffy, and the curry is spicy and aromatic. The chicken is tender and the potatoes are soft. The bun can feed four to six people.
The restaurant also serves other dishes, such as steamed rice, noodles, seafood, and vegetables. We tried the steamed rice, which was fragrant and tasty, and the fried sotong, which was crispy and chewy. The portions were big and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant also has a variety of drinks, such as coffee, tea, juice, and soda.
The service was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and spacious, and the ambiance was cozy and relaxing. The restaurant is located at the ground floor of Taman Aman, a residential area in Lukut, Port Dickson.
Overall, I enjoyed my lunch at Lucky King Bun Lukut HQ, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves curry and bread. The restaurant has a high quality of food, service, and atmosphere, and the value is worth it. It is one of the best places to eat in Port Dickson, and I would definitely...
