In August, my husband and I visited Tanah Rata in the Cameron Highlands, Malaysia, and it was an unforgettable experience. The town’s lush greenery, cool climate, and picturesque landscapes were absolutely enchanting.

One highlight of our trip was visiting a Bharat tea plantation. We met the owner, an Indian gentleman, who warmly welcomed us and shared fascinating stories about tea cultivation and the plantation's history. Our conversation with him was enriching and added a personal touch to our visit.

We enjoyed freshly brewed tea at the plantation’s tea house, overlooking the serene tea fields. The cool mountain air and tranquil surroundings made for a perfect afternoon.

Beyond the plantation, Tanah Rata offered charming local markets, delicious cuisine, and scenic walking trails. The colonial architecture and vibrant flora added to its appeal.

Getting to Tanah Rata was easy with a 4-5 hour bus ride from Kuala Lumpur. The scenic drive through winding roads provided stunning views of the highlands. The weather was pleasantly cool, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities.

Our visit to Tanah Rata was truly memorable, enriched by the beautiful landscapes and warm hospitality. Meeting the tea plantation owner was a delightful highlight. I highly recommend Tanah Rata for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of the...

We took the Plus Highway to Cameron Highlands from Seremban. It was about 4.30 hours journey to reach Cameron Highlands.

We took a rest in Century Pines Resort for an hour. My daughter already booked earlier to stay 1 night and 2 days in this Hotel. Then we proceed to a look at few farms nearby. At night went to night market near to our resort. Many of them are selling thier own farm produts.

Next day after breafast proceed to the famous Bharat Tea Plantation. Bharar tea plantation was along the trunk road. It was a greenish view every where along the winding trunk road. We took a rest at their stall to test the taste of the Bharat tea. It taste delicious with the greenish view down hill from this place. the windy atmospher made the taste more delicious. Then proceed to other farms including the strawberry farm. On the way back took lunch in Ringlet town and then proceed to the famous Lata Iskandar waterfall in Cameron highlands. No entrance fee and free parking. It was...

Dirty café with swarm of flies everywhere perching on plates, cups, and the visitor. The tables and chairs were soiled and sticky and not fit for dining in. Their mushroom soup is a big let-down with cold and diluted water with some cold clumpy cream misplaced in the soup. The spaghetti is another pathetic sight where the water is not drained from the packaging when the reheating was done. The water residual was obviously present around the spaghetti which made it not to the standard of human consumption. And we paid a cutthroat overzealous price for a 3rd class food prepared by unscrupulous profit-making group. This place is pretty much overrated and better take a detour to Boh plantation for your next visit. and My suggestion to the leadership team; please come down in undercover and experience the food tasting and the...

The first tea plantation open to the tourists & public when one nears the town of Tanah Rata on the approach to Cameron Highlands. One can savour a cup of the Cameron Valley Tea produced here. Finger food are also available if so desirous The cafe offers a magnificent view of the tea plantation with a mini water fall in the distant below If one is desirous of going into the plantation to take photos amongst the tea plants ; then the entry fee would be RM 4.00 per person if one walks down. And it is a long walk down Alternatively, if one takes the electric buggy then the entry fee would be RM 15.00 After a respite of about an hour here; we went to the teashop here and bought numerous fruit flavoured tea . Definitely a good place for instagrammable pics

This place is overated. Anything good is only the scenery. The cafe that sells scones and tea is actually making a lot of money. for 2 scones and a pot of tea (teh tarik style) cost about RM32.00. This is like only RM6.00 cost. And the place still charge guests for visiting the tea plantation. I would suggest that visitors just stop by the road side for picture takings and boycott any places with entrance fees. This is to avoid places of attractions that get too commercialized. Just few years back, all these areas are free of charge. I think is not very welcoming to oversea tourists. They spend money buying your tea products and eating at your restaurant. Please do not cash in on their hospitalities.
