Sunway Lost World Hotel — Attraction in Perak

We are travelling as a couple and enjoyed our stay at the hotel as it is next to the water theme park. However, we have our list of pros n cons for the hotel. Pros:

1. Spacious room for deluxe king
2. Good aircon (Daikin)
3. No rainshower but shower head water pressure is good and water heater just right
4. Refillable glass bottles
5. Midea kettle
6. 2 free tix for 2 nights to the Lost World of Tambun Night Park (awesome place and shud go…the flame performance is also great tho they dun perform on Tues except sch hols/PH)
7. 35% disc to the day theme park (Day theme park is closed EVERY TUES except when sch hols/PH)
8. Did not ask for housekeeping but they made up the room and provided extra towel and bath wash (they hv integrity too as they did not take anything at all which is a plus)
9. Working fridge

Cons:

1. Being next to theme park, there is no place to dry/line your wet clothes. They should provide the retractable clothes line in the toilet at least to dry clothes as most rooms hv no balcony either. We had to hang at the shower cubicle to dry our clothes. As a couple, ok but family with kids cld be a handful.
2. No hair conditioner and comb tho they provided the rest
3. TV volume shud be adjusted to 40 or 50. At 36, a bit too soft.
4. Only has HITS movies as movie channel.
5. Hotel should allow guests to purchase day tickets from reception and after breakfast at their garden terrace, which is at the theme park, guests can go into the park via the restaurant entrance instead of having to q outside and buy the day tickets. This would be a plus point for ppl to stay at the hotel.

Neutral:

1. Altho hotel dun provide in room dining, the free tix to the night park offered some food stalls that are open and we managed to get our food fix there. They have hot dog buns, wanton mee, curry mee, hor fun rice, goreng pisang, drinks and tutti frutti ice cream among others. We were never hungry for the two nights we were there. Even packed some food back to hotel.
2. Breakfast is at the garden terrace at the theme park but we dun mind. Not much variety for bfast but as we r not big eaters we r happy with wat they have (nasi lemak, bread, cereal and soft boiled eggs which they helped to break open and serve it to us). However, for family with kids/elderly/wheelchair-bound, it can be quite challenging esp if it rains.

Overall, we wld still come back to this hotel and be more...

I was last at Sunway Lost World Hotel 10 years ago. Perhaps it was recently refreshed then, but I remember it being rather good. I checked into this hotel last weekend and found that it is unfortunately not as nice as I remember.

During my 3d 2n stay, my family only experienced hot water all of once. When I complained to the front desk, they sent a maintenance guy who recommended we leave the water running until it was hot. It was obvious there was prior repair work in my bathroom (as well as around the room) in the past and, it was also quite obviously shoddy work. Despite not having any hot water, I suppose it was okay for it to be not cold, at least it was a little bit warm.

Another thing that really irked me, was how I could not replenish my water without first surrendering a bottle. Why is it I can only have 2 bottles in the room at any time? @Sunway Lost World Hotel, if you are reading this, those glass bottles really are not worth nicking -- your housekeeping team did their best to explain, but I must say I was annoyed. Bogged down by rigid policies.

This being Ipoh, I skipped having meals (breakfast) at the hotel; opting to go out for food instead. But on a rainy night, ordering food for in-room dining was a really unpleasant experience, given there was only one chair (and no sofa) in our corner room. Plenty of space, but one working desk, one chair and nowhere civil to place the food -- what a wasted opportunity!

However, I must commend the great staff: from front-desk to housekeeping, who were warm, friendly, patient and seemed to genuinely want to help. Service alone, I'd rate them 4/5. They deserve a pat on their backs, although it feels as though they are struggling with the tools they are provided with.

The hotel is just a 5 min walk away from the theme park (which also feels significantly aged since I was last there), and is in decent proximity to most other amenities (fast food, petrol station, pharmacy, grocery store, etc). Town and most of the local fare is in the city center, some 15-20 mins drive away... but there is always Grab if you are too tired to drive out for dinner.

All things considered -- I regard the stay as value for money, as room stay also included entry into the theme park (which my kid thoroughly enjoyed). There's no discounting how this is really a budget hotel, but great value for the attached...

the 2 locker staffs need to improve, very not friendly, we rented cheapest locker offered at rm20, they didnt tie it to ur hand, n didnt tell locker no or section to scan, so i tie the wristband to my mom but it become difficult to scan (barcode still fully visible), so we asked for help but it seems like d staff annoyed with us. this d part that spoiled my mood. rm20 for that kind of facility and service? went there with for teambuilding at same time i also bought additional hotspring and night park ticket for my mom, age 13-60 price rm75 if not mistaken and for mykad holder will get discount become rm64 like that..purchased it online at their official website. i think if u stay at their hotel u will get another 35% discount and breakfast voucher..the parking is rm1 per entry and free if u stay at d hotel. they said got 14 pool with different depth, temperature n function eg for soaking ur body and foot spa. u can wear anything other than cotton to enter d pool. if u dont have any d souvenir shop at d entrace sell some of them at affordable prices especially one with their logo. got petting area with lots of cute animal only that u need to bare d smell of d nature. not to forget d fire n laser show very exciting and entertaining. after show u can snap picture with them and they will help to snap picture using ur phone for free and dslr with rm50 charge for 1big photo and 2 regular photos (incl. paper frame). u may also interested to walk around luminous forrest where have moving tree and centipedes and ur picture will be more wonderful if u wear white or fluorescent color shirt. hotel price around rm200++/night. d hotel very wide n comfortable to bring in family together. the heater is good, toothbrush, shower gel, shampoo provided n shower cap provided. the aircond comfortable. tv can access to several channel. but its not sound proof, easily can hear somebody gossip in other room. still u will have sounded sleep after all activities u did there. u need cross d road to get to theme park from hotel but got friendly staff that will take care of ur safety. breakfast also located near d themepark. buffet style, eat what u can from 7.30-10am like that. nasi lemak, porridge, soup, toast, cereal all there. other staffs and marshall are nice and friendly. only d two locker guy. we also made mistake but theres better...
