We went to pray on 17th sept 2024 which is the mid autumn festival. It was open. Very windy. Temple with a very large building. Very well kept. The lady selling the Joss stick was very helpful in explaining the various deities in the temple and how many Joss sticks to offer at each of them. There are a few others located outside the main temple, the one you pray to help in your studies sitting beside the one that will help you find a partner. Also the god of prosperity. There is a well (covered) with its water coming out from a dragon mouth. You may collect the water to wash your face to get its blessing. This temple is the largest nine emperor god and I can see many flags around the temple as part of the celebrations for this coming festival. I strongly recommend you to visit as the whole place will feel very calm and release you from your daily worries. Enter is free. You only pay if you want to buy Joss sticks, candles and other prayer items to ask...

This is my favourite temple in Miri mainly because of the 1800 dragons that are said to be found scattered throughout the temple compound, carved into pillars, printed onto fabric, embossed onto tiles etc. They are just everywhere and are so beautiful. There is the usual colour pop that you would get and so many opportunities to take photos and videos throughout. Unfortunately when I was visiting, construction was going on and the large dragons flanking the gates were getting repainted so I couldn’t enjoy the full splendour. Nonetheless, definitely a stop worthy of your time!

Tip: Just around the corner, there is the Lian Hua San Ching Tien temple which is the second(?)...

One of the most beautiful Chinese temple in Miri. Definitely a must visit. 2 giant dragons guarding the main gate beside the giant archway. As we enter, we are greeted with more dragons. There are 2 fish ponds with lots of Koi under 2 more dragons. Just beautiful. The inner sanctuary of the temple is grand with beautiful ceilings. And there is a giant iron bell at the corner of the temple. Definitely take photos of that. Just such an amazing...

We visited during heavy rain but it was still beautiful to see the ornate and colourful decor of this large temple. The two huge dragons guarding the entrance are impressive. Unusual are the two large fishtanks either side of the prayer hall entrance. I also like the rainwater pouring from the mouths of the two dragons on the roof, into the two fishponds. Definitely a highlight in Miri.
