Concerns Regarding Poor Temple Management – Kuil Thiruvizha 2025 (Held on 3rd August 2025)

We wish to express our disappointment with the overall management of this year’s kuil thiruvizha, which took place on 3rd August 2025. While the festival holds great cultural and spiritual significance, the arrangements this year fell far below expectations. Here are some key concerns:

Poor Time Management The event schedule was poorly planned and poorly followed. There was no clear prioritization for vulnerable groups such as elderly people and children, who were left standing for long periods in uncomfortable and sometimes unsafe conditions. This shows a lack of foresight and basic courtesy.

Lack of Proper Arrangements and Advance Planning No adequate preparations were made ahead of time. Due to unclear reasons, the chariot procession skipped several key streets, leaving many devotees disappointed. This abrupt change was not communicated in advance, creating confusion and frustration among the public.

No Emergency Preparedness It was concerning to see a complete absence of emergency response arrangements. There were no visible first aid stations, crowd control volunteers, or backup systems in case of unexpected situations. Such negligence could have had serious consequences.

Favoritism and Class Bias There was a noticeable bias towards high-class or influential individuals, who received special treatment, seating, and access. Meanwhile, ordinary devotees were left to struggle with basic facilities and crowd congestion. This goes against the spirit of equality and devotion that the festival is meant to uphold.

We sincerely hope the temple administration takes these concerns seriously and works towards a more inclusive, better-organized, and safer event...

I deeply regret choosing this temple hall for my wedding due to the disappointing experience we had. While the main priest was quiet and composed, the assistant priest's behavior was completely unacceptable. He repeatedly shouted throughout the ceremony, cut short essential rituals, and acted in an unprofessional manner. His excessive movement disrupted the ceremony, blocked cameras, and interfered with the photographers—ultimately ruining many of our precious wedding memories.

We were not informed that an assistant priest would be present, nor were we given any explanation as to why two priests were necessary. This lack of communication, combined with his behavior, significantly tarnished what should have been a joyous and sacred occasion.

I cannot recommend this venue to others unless these concerns are addressed and better conduct is ensured from their staff. The assistant priest was also extremely rude to my parents and several guests, displaying a sense of power and authority by bossing people around and pushing others out of his way. The photographers were obstructed and mishandled, further adding to the chaos.
