La Paz visit at the end of December 2023. Nice quiet town. Stayed at Posada Las Flores, great location at the end of the Malecon, which. is the center of everything. Hotel was good, location excellent. clean, safe and very helpful management. Do not expect a 5 star rating. We took a tour to Espiritu Santo Island. About 7 hours long, beautiful beaches, snorkeling if you wanted too. The water was kind of cold. you may need a wet suit.We also went to Tecolote beach and rented jet skis, nice experience. $100 per hour. We saw Belentra beach from the boat during the island trip. Beautiful, but empty, no facilities at all. This is a protected area so access is limited. Many places to eat, Bismark is good, Veracruz style fish is the best. Central for breakfast, ice cream at Michocan, try guanabana, exotic fruit, delicious. At the same corner (I am almost sure, may be off 1 block) there is a hot dog and hamburger vendor, you have to try. Incredibly delicious.

The Malecón in La Paz, Baja California Sur, is a 5-kilometer stretch where you can walk, jog, or ride your bike. It’s incredibly picturesque, with charming shops where you can buy souvenirs or simply enjoy the music played by musicians near the pier. Families stroll together, creating an atmosphere that feels like a dream neighborhood. You’ll find restaurants to suit all budgets, offering some of the best seafood, including tuna, yellowfin, sea bass, or jurel. It’s the perfect spot for a sunset dinner. We fell in love with this city — it makes you feel safe, welcome, and well taken care of. The service is phenomenal. It was a truly special time that we’ll always cherish in our memories. Recommend to only do walking down the esplanade in the evening/night otherwise you'll be burned and drenched in sweat. Lots of yummy street food and beautiful art installation around for pictures. Try Bismarkcito for pulpo(grilled octopus) and fish & prawn ceviche. Beware of 'buskers'/street performers asking for a tip, best to ignore them otherwise you'll be flocked with a never ending troop. Another spot for the best eat we had was at Claros Fish Jr. the ceviche tower was amazing with a good variety of tacos for very affordable local eat prices.

Please help me spread the word about visiting LA Paz with Caution! The police here are more likely to to shake down foreigners.

We had a great experience until we had been making our way out of La Paz back to Los Cabos.

The police will target foreigners to extort them for money. Usually these corrupt cops will make up something to stop you. For example I was stopped for speeding 90km in a 30km zone. I know I didn't, but hey if you argue they will arrest you and continue to extort you at...

The malecón seems huge. I've seen a lot of it, but I've never witnessed either end. Possibly this is an island? There's a merry go round here for wheelchair-bound people. And an observation area by the water only for wheelchairs so people in chairs can enjoy the scenery without getting stuck in sand or grass. And statues and statue-like objects. They're all about. Some grand ones have no name plates but places for names to be inscribed, so I shall name them for you right here where only we...
