I recently visited Park Nazzjonali Ta' Qali, and while it feels like a work in progress, the experience was largely positive. The park, with its vast expanse of natural beauty, provides a much-needed green space in the area.
One of the park's most remarkable features is its avian population. The variety of birds here is impressive, making it a haven for birdwatchers like myself. From the melodious songbirds to the majestic birds of prey, the diversity is a testament to the park's thriving ecosystem. It's a delight to wander through the paths, with the sound of birdsong as a constant backdrop.
The park's flora is another aspect worth mentioning. Amidst the numerous olive trees, which themselves are a sight to behold, there's a mix of other local plant life. These olive trees add a rustic charm to the landscape. They are interspersed with a variety of shrubs, flowers, and other trees, creating a mosaic of greenery that is pleasing to the eye.
However, the park does feel somewhat unfinished. There are areas that seem like they're still under development, and certain facilities are lacking. This aspect can detract from the overall experience, especially for visitors who expect a more manicured and fully-fledged park environment.
Despite this, Park Nazzjonali Ta' Qali has a lot to offer. It's a great spot for a leisurely walk, a picnic, or just to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The promise of what this park could become is evident, and I hope to see it reach its full potential in the future.
In conclusion, Park Nazzjonali Ta' Qali is a charming getaway with its rich birdlife and scenic olive groves. While it may not yet be perfect, it's a space with great potential and worth a visit for anyone who appreciates natural beauty and...
Read moreCame upon this National Park by surprise whilst walking from St Julian’s to M’dina one day in March. Very unexpected.
Beautiful gardens laid out in a formal style with a large fountain and surrounding viewing platforms offering views of M’dina.
The fountain and surrounding area was impressive and seemed very clean and well kept. No park in England is this clean. Well done.
A walk through the park leads to the outskirts of the national convention centre and the large outdoor festival area.
I imagine this park is very popular locally to visit. There was a glassmaker nearby as well as an aviation museum and some sort of interactive centre.
A Deerdog could get some beautiful photos on a garden like this if he wouldn’t melt doing so… 😆
Definitely worth a pause on route to M’dina if you’re walking. A nice counterpoint to the...
