Villa Bologna — Attraction in Attard

We decided to visit to celebrate my wife's birthday and was quite strange experience. The place itself is beautiful but lacking in food quality and service.

We were greeted and seated in a polite way, and the beverage service was fast and Aperols were tasty and done properly.

Bread that was given complimentary was dry and stale hard to chew like it was from yesterdayor re-used.

Calamari followed was nice and tasty.

Main course was the biggest problem as the Veal that we ordered was extremely greasy and was bloody close to the bone. We still ate it as we were hungry but expectes much better.

Dessert were ok not bad not great.

Now we come to the service problem as it was very inconsistent since we came at 18.30 and stayed until 20.00 much before the peak hour as restaurant was empty most of the time.

Waiter that was bringing food to us dropped the side sauce of the veal next to our baby staining the chair and the floor next to our table. However he didnt clean any of it and it stayed collecting flies like that during our dinner. We had to ask for the extra sauce to be brought. Nobody asked us how is our meal or if everything is ok. Plate clearing inconsistent as well as we had starter plates on our table while eating mains.

When we went to pay for the bill and to the bathroom waiters were already clearing our table removing some leftover water and rushing us which is fine but we just needed an extra minute and we would be gone anyway since we were with the baby. If they were this attentive when we were seated we wouldn't have an issue.

We tipped 10 euros as we usually always do regardless.

It's a pitty because the place is lovely and have a lot of potential but food quality must improve for the price of 60€ per person and not to mention again improvements in...

Nice place. We went for a Sunday lunch. Food took a while to be served. We asked for bread until we waited and server said "i'll see what I can do"... Starters arrived, all good. Then we waited for at least 30m for the mains. A lasagna was clearly pre frozen and wasnt heated properly. Looked gross and clearly not fresh. Told the server and it was changed to a fresh better one. Ordered a steak well done it arrived medium rare. Sent back. We were 4 and all 4 meals arrived at a different time. Dessert and coffees were on the house as a service recovery - i ordered an early grey tea, they bring an english breakfast tea with no milk lol. Even their "free" items werent correct. We reserved for my boyfriend's birthday but nobody really welcomed us. Everybody in the service felt overwhelmed even if it wasn't full.

It was really poor service. Some drinks were missing and when I was finally able to catch waiters attention I had to wait again and my wine of glass never came. I had to stand up and go directly myself to talk to one of them to finally have it. No excuse, no gesture of goodwill.

For this kind of place you expect better...
