Golden Bay is one of Malta’s most popular sandy beaches, known for its beautiful golden sands and crystal-clear waters. It’s the perfect spot for swimming, sunbathing, or simply relaxing with friends and family. During peak summer months, the beach can get very crowded, so it’s best to arrive early to find a good spot.
Parking: Free on-street parking is available nearby. Sometimes, a parking attendant is present and accepts donations. Parking can be tricky during peak season, so be prepared to walk a bit. Facilities: Umbrellas and deckchairs are available for rent during the summer months, making it easy to set up for a day at the beach. Food & Drinks: There’s a nice café right on the beach, offering snacks, drinks, and light meals—perfect for a beachside lunch. Public Transport: Easily accessible by bus, with regular routes stopping close to the beach. Activities: Great for swimming, beach games, or even a leisurely picnic. The area is also popular for evening walks, and the sunsets here are absolutely stunning.

Read moreGolden Bay was awesome! 🏖️ They have a section for people with just towels and another part where we stayed with sun umbrellas and sunbeds, which was super affordable—€5 for a sunbed and €7 for an umbrella, way cheaper than Croatia! The guy bringing the umbrellas spoke Serbian, so hearing some Balkan language was a relief! He even gave us the sunbeds right next to the sea—what a win! 😂
He also explained that the red flag near the “free” section of the beach means lifeguards might save you, but don’t count on it 😅. Plus, there was a purple flag, which meant no jellyfish that day—thank goodness, since I got stung the day before at Blue Lagoon! 🦑. Oh, and they have parrots at the shop where you rent things (cute bonus), plus lockers for your stuff, which was super handy after a day of sightseeing.
The beach itself was beautiful, with big waves that gave me Nazare, Portugal vibes 🌊. The water was nice, and the sand had that fun “breathing” effect! The whole scenery was just stunning. Definitely recommend this spot for a...
Read moreGolden Sunset, this is what I would like to call this place. Golden Bay is a perfect place to end summer evenings with an amazing sunset as the backdrop. Small but lovely place to spend beach time with family and friends. Located just below Radisson Blu sands. One of very few sandy beaches in Malta with horizon view ( which otherwise might get obstructed with personal boats and yachts being parked). Get your music, speakers, barbeque sets whatever you like and merry time. Munchies restaurant right on the beach offers food varieties ( non veg, salads, burgers, pizza, sandwich but limited veg options) at reasonable prices and delectable , just in case you don't want the headache to bring your own food (unless you prefer) or worry about not getting food options. Ample paid parking space available in case you want to drive down. Decent bus options available from different parts of Malta. Public toilets as well available. All in all, must visit if you...
