Had dinner here, staff were lovely but they seemed tired and worn out after a long day. Food was good, but had better and there is an obvious room for their improvement. Think the long day showed or maybe I'm just comparing it to it's sister restaurant Flavours which is upstairs at same resort where there is an obvious and crystal clear difference in service regardless what time of day you tuen up and taste their food etc.
However, food isn't that bad and would come for lunch not dinner to see views and the food would probably be done with some more TLC, energy and freshly prepared rather than the pizza dough being prepared earlier that day and just shoved in when ordered. I requested buffalo mozzarella on my pizza and they didnt drain the excess water that naturally comes out of it so hence the pizza was soggy in middle and crusts were obvious the bread was prepared earlier that day and anchovies were all chucked in the middle rather than evenly distributed. Made me scrap it all out and not enjoy my meal as it was too salty in the middle and over powering the taste and left it at end. Spaghetti was swimming in the sauce with a few meatballs.
Tirimisu also was not fully set amd the sponge tasted like brownie dough despitr it was advertised as their signature pick.
Hence why i say potential good but clearly staff were tired (not to mention it showed on their faces despite the brilliant...

Read moreWait staff was pretty rude and even though I clearly explained my order, she half mindedly nodded through it and while she was about to leave I repeated my order as it had to be done with chicken instead of Ham, but guess what I get in my pizza? Ham! Had it not been for a group that zi went with, I would've definitely had my dish sent back but because the food arrived 1 hour after we ordered, I decided to just remove the bits of ham and eat the rest. Unfortunately the kitchen too failed here, the dough on the pizza was chewy and the sauce lacked flavour, almost seemed like hospital food as it was too bland. I know personal preferences can sometimes cause these things, but I have eaten enough pizzas in Malta to know where you can get a good pizza and this is certainly not one of those places.
Everyone else around me ordered steaks, pastas and other varieties of foods but tbh no one seemed impressed with the taste.
So if you're in the area, best would be to go to the Essence restaurant, in the same building as they have better service and also better tasting food which is worth your time and money.
The only reason I give them 2 stars is for the drinks which arrived pretty fast and for the bread and olive oil that kept us from starving until our...
