MedAsia Golden Sands — Local services in Mellieha

The staff are friendly and the food was nice however there are some service areas that need addressing.

Starter steamed Chicken dumplings, brought to table in the bamboo steaming basket with no underplate and no lid - which allows the steam and heat to dissipate very quickly as it is travelling to the table.

There was no side plate either so you just have to dip your cooling/congealing dumplings in the sauce and try not to drip over the table. The whole point of steaming is to deliver it hot and moist, not have a through draft diminishing the chefs efforts.

Main courses - Thai Curry - delicious but again no plates so you just have to eat out of the serving bowls….

Wine - only served in plastic ‘glasses’ - appalling the excuse given is because of the beach. Rubbish - we were approx 10metres from the beach. - right next door is alioglio who have tables against the beach fence use glassware.

Il MedAsia è semplicemente un posto magnifico! Il ristorante ha una cucina di tipo asiatico fusion, con una buona scelta di sushi e piatti orientali provenienti da varie nazioni. Inizio subito dicendo che la location è da mozzare il fiato, soprattutto se venite a mangiare al tramonto visto che si trova in una delle più belle baie di Malta, la Golden Bay. I piatti sono veramente molto buoni e serviti con tutte le attenzioni del caso. Sushi ottimo con un pesce freschissimo e verdure di prima qualità. Avendo assaggiato quasi tutto il menù mi sento di consigliare anche gli antipasti e primi piatti che sono buonissimi. In particolar modo ho apprezzato tantissimo i Glass noodle con l'anatra, la quale era cotta alla PERFEZIONE. I camerieri sono tutti molto professionali, simpatici e gentilissimi. è un luogo che non potete assolutamente perdere soprattutto se venite in coppia perché è incredibilmente romantico!

MedAsia is simply a wonderful place! The restaurant has Asian fusion cuisine, with a good selection of sushi and oriental dishes from various nations. I will start right away by saying that the location is breathtaking, especially if you come to eat at sunset since it is located in one of the most beautiful bays in Malta, Golden Bay. The dishes are really very good and served with all due care. Sushi very good with very fresh fish and top quality vegetables.
