So far, it's extremely disappointing. I understand it's a busy place and the only place to get some food and on the beach, but still. Arrived to be told there's a waiting list, and I will get the table within half an hour. So I decided to wait in the shadow by the entrance. Half an hour later, I got to the desk again, and I was told another 1.5 hour. I became rather unpleasant, and that reduced the waiting time to a half hour. Absolutely disgusting service. You may think of introducing a different system and definitely more pleasant staff. I have been made feel unwelcome, bluntly told by the girls that there is at least another half hour waiting. No apology, no smile, no customer service. Rude and blunt. What is more, when I returned, I was told, not explained, that it says on your website that the waiting time can be up to an hour. Yet, at the time of arrival, I was told half an hour. They blamed me for not knowing, as if this should be so obvious. So I wasted an hour waiting in the shadows while I could have enjoyed the beach. I am frustrated and disappointed. As to the food, I don't know... I had no chance to try it. UPDATE I eventually managed to get a table. I sat down, and I was served pretty promptly. I only had a salad. I just couldn't be bothered waiting to order anything else - I sat with my empty plate and glasses for about 20 minutes. The empties were cleared, but no one asked if wanted to order anything else. The staff were passing my table every couple of minutes, but none of them paid attention or asked if I wanted another drink or food. And I did. I was starving. I decided it was time to go, I asked for the bill and left Overall, it is a great location, seems a good vibe, but they value quantities, not the qualities. Customer service is very poor. Drinks are amazing, I had a few in the last few days but always takeaway. It was the first and last, time I actually sat down there. I left very disappointed, hungry and upset. Do I recommend it? Yes, for a drink to go, it is a great place. For a sit-down meal? Not worth the wait. You'll get to any local town, or the nearby golden bay, get fed and have a few drinks, you come back and enjoy the sun, whilst you'd still be waiting to get the table here or to be served. And you'd have a lot better...
Read moreTruly beautiful sunset spot, one of the best we found on Malta! Clearing a few things up from other reviewers: 1) There’s quite a lot of stairs to get here +100. I believe the view is worth it! 2) If the restaurant is full you’ll put yourself on a waiting list. For ex we waited ~15 min, then got a table. It wasn’t bad at all, I’m not sure why people flip out about it 3) There are only a few tables that directly face the sunset view so your table may be obstructed. Ours wasn’t a direct view but it didn’t bother us. There’s a small patio you can walk out on, take pics, etc I liked that bc it allowed us to see more of the scenery than we would have in the restaurant anyway. 4) Ambiance & music was good. I liked the tunes the day we visited, chilled out but slightly uptempo like you’d expect at a proper beach club.
The reason for 3 stars is the service, esp for these prices. We each had 2 drinks, and each time we wanted to order we had to flag our server down. There just wasn’t much urgency or attention to detail with the service, yet there seemed to be a lot of servers walking around or chatting in groups. Because of this we noticed many tables of “squatters” - people who weren’t ordering much but obviously saving their table to see the sunset. For ex table next to us had 1 person at it, who was a friend of the servers and for 30 min we heard them strategizing how to keep the table. We counted at least 3 other tables doing similar things. I think this place could offer better service and create some policies to prevent this and it’d be a much better experience that more guests could enjoy.
Tldr go for the amazing sunset view,...
Read moreDecided to go to Singita for lunch for my husbands birthday today. Were greeted and given a table, and gave our order of 1 cola and 2 teas with soya milk. In fact I stressed that we wanted soya milk. In being given our drinks before we added the milk I was not convinced it was soya milk due to the colour and then the smell. As we asked the server twice for soya on ordering I took a small sip to confirm that it was maybe a weaker brand than we were used to, it was so obviously cows milk. Took the milk straight to the bar and asked the two guys to confirm that they gave us soya to which they replied “ soya ran out yesterday that’s lactose free”. I could not believe that they had taken it on themselves to ignore what the customer had ordered and just give them any alternative. When we said how can you do that, he just shrugged his shoulders and said well we ran out. My husband asked for the manager and they pointed to the server who came over and told them he wrote soya and they again said well we don’t have! At this point we were really upset at the don’t give a f attitude. The server should have been told so he could inform us to give us the choice to order something else or go elsewhere. The staff have obviously got no idea about the severity of this if a person is allergic or intolerant to dairy, perhaps they need to be taught that lactose free milk is still from a cow seeing as they are serving drinks and food that contain it. This was a big difference from last year when we would regular visit. Felt sick after that one small sip and so angry we definitely will...
