What a magical place. I visited the day before during a laguna boat tour with Gaia Experience. Seeing the water from the boat is just mesmerizing and unlike anything one would expect from a Cenote or lake. I knew I had to visit and step foot. My mom and I arrived around 10:10 am. The venue hadnāt opened yet. There was a short line outside of eager visitors. We were let in at 10:20 am.
There is parking available. Coming in the morning affords you the best hammocks in the water as they are first come, first serve. The water is non-salt water and natural. Itās cool but not as cold sometimes as the beach. There are small fish that greet you. The water is deep when you first enter but gets shallow and then deeper again once you are farther out and I mean really farther out. Itās beautiful and picturesque. People are extremely friendly and will take a picture if you ask. And likewise expect people to ask you to take a picture. Itās a kind thing to do. š„°
Please protect the environment and avoid wearing sunscreen and oils. Iād love for my grandchildren to visit this place in the future.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI rarely write reviews, but during the entire road trip the experience in this place was just too negative. The only thing that saved it, was the gorgeous view. First, the food and drinks are super overpriced and especially meat was of a poor quality in comparison to what we saw in Holbox, Valladolid, Merida and many other places. Secondly, the staff approached to us about 3 to 4 times always disturbing our stay with fees we were suppose to pay by using ordinary objects of a restaurant... At the beginning it was the entrance fee, then if we wanted to sit on a chair we needed to pay extra fee, to sit on a table closer to the Laguna there was another fee... Honestly, it wasn't about money, but how our stay was constantly disturbed by rude staff, that was sad. The only thing they were missing is to charge us for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is a must visit place while in Bacalar! $100 peso entrance, have tables and chairs to rent or hammocks not just outside the water but also in the water along with swings. Be cautious getting in. You can get a life jacket but thereās only maybe 5 feet that you may not be able to touch when you first get in, then you can walk into the crystal blue water. You may want water shoes if you are tender but itās not too bad. You can pack lunch or snacks. You only need a couple hours as you should not wear sunscreen for the safety of the ecosystem and the crystal water will get you burnt if too long. We went 2 day in a row for a couple hours and it...
