We live in San Lucas, however today we took our Canadian guests to El Triunfo with the intent of visiting the town and just popping into the Museum. The Museum is a wealth of historical to present-day facts shown in video/artifacts, the written word (precisely presented), maps, and more. We were all enthralled and learned so much during our visit. My favourite was learning the word "transhumance", if you don't know what it means I urge you to visit the Museum! During our visit to the Museum, we managed to eat at their Restaurant, the food was amazing and we were very lucky to meet Devlin who explained the Menu (all local food) in great detail and gave us a history of the company that runs the Museums and restaurants throughout the Baja, she was a star! The food was amazing!!!! Please visit to help the preservation of the Peninsular and the Vaqueros in the Sierras! We did not visit the Silver Museum as we still had to drive back home, but we will be revisiting this beautiful town as soon as possible. Thank you El Triunfo for divulging...
Read moreWow! So much California and cowboy history packed into a small footprint. Especially loved the many videos, truly an ethnographic treasure trove of vaquero stories. We had the awesome experience of eating machaca tacos at a roadside taqueria and then watching cowboys talk about the careful process of making machaca.
