Bar El Minero de El Triunfo.
How do you describe a find like this in the desert? You can't. It must be experienced, then you receive the full pleasure of food, sights, and surroundings. Incredible, just incredible right down to the Victorian Tea House hidden among the renovated buildings and an espresso bar tucked inside, of course, a bar.
There are treasures to be discovered on the menu, as well as visual sites, such as Sultan, the braying bronze mule for his beloved jenny who is carrying the miners gear. She stands in-front of a large treasure chest for children to explore and rummage through.
The only way to satisfy the historical gathering of wonders this little town of El Triunfo has to show you are --go and see for yourselves! Visit the Minero Plata Museum and relish the history of the community, then look up at La Ramona, a sentinel solider, evidence that El Triunfo was a thriving mining town.
This can all be enjoyed at the indoor gardens of Bar El Minero de El Triunfo's courtyard while enjoying tasty fresh healthy generous fare from Baja. Enjoy! Did I say, fresh? Yes, try the oysters, you...
Read moreWe went yesterday for the Sunday Paella event. What a disaster and awful experience. We had a reservation and got there a bit earlier to enjoy some drinks and appetizers.
Since we sat down on the tables they forgot about us, no servers coming our way, took them forever to get our drinks and appetizers, then they didn’t come back for at least another 45 min.
When paella was ready they didn’t bring any to us, had to go find a waiter to let him know. Once they brought us the “Paella”, a very small dish of something they call Paella ( Im from Spain and that wasn’t a real paella) mixed with a salad that had a dressing on which made the whole dish oily and disgusting. They were supposed to bring a glass of Sangria as well and they brought it when we were all done with the food.
Horrible service, horrible food, horrible everything. And way to expensive. 395 pesos for a little dish of Paella??? If you are trying to offer a fancy restaurant vibe, and charge prices accordingly, you have to step up your game. Wouldn’t recommend this place...
Read moreThe menu is short yet well-curated and ecletic. The albóndigas, lemon totaba filet and greens salad were delightful and thoughtfully prepared. We also loved the unique condiments, highlighted by fantastic mustard (also available by the jar to take home). The prices are a little high though not bad considering the quality and location. Star lost for really poor quality coffee and we didn't love our dessert "Joaquin's Dream". It was nicely presented and also gluten-free however there were just too many flavors and textures going on. To their credit, our server did recommend the banana pie instead, so maybe that's on us for not following the recommendation. Service was relaxed yet prompt and setting tranquil. Improve the coffee and this would be a...
