When traveling to Puerto Vallarta (PV) you have many options for travel tours. However one stands above the rest, VALLARTA ADVENTURES! Everyone from the tour guides, the crew, the entire staff was welcoming and truly enjoyed making your adventure very enjoyable.
We purchased two tours with Vallarta Adventures , Yelapa & Majahuitas and Caletas. To our surprise, Chai was our tour guide both times. We heard of Chai when we booked online and he was an Amazing 👏 tour guide. He is bilingual and is very entertaining, has a great personality and is very welcoming.
The first day we went to Yulapa & Majahuitas (Y&M). The company has a big catamaran two story boat. Very stable and personally my family did not feel too much swaying.
The first leg of our tour was snorkling in open waters before reaching Yulapa Island. You can either jump off the front of the boat or climb down the rear of the boat. The time spent there was about 20-40 minutes. The crew also jumped out and there was a small boat ensuring the safety of the guests. Once you reach Yulapa Island you have the option of going through the cobble stone road up to the waterfall or staying at the beach. If you chose the town and waterfall, be ready for a good hike. The beach has eating stablishments and bathrooms. However, the water is not clear and it has some floating water plants.
After the tour of the town everyone meets at the beach for about 20-40 minutes before heading to Majahuitas. At Majahuitas, you are treated to lunch and the beach is beautiful. Small waves with clear and warm waters. The tour is fast paced and tiring but totally worth it. If you have littles, know that they will be very tired at the end of the day.
The second tour was Caletas Island and it was so different than the one from Y&M. It was a relaxing day at the beach for us but there are so many things to do. There is a kids area, Teen Cove, zip lining, bannana boat, kayacks, hammocks, open bar, and the buffet had everything. Salad, ribs, fish, chicken, pasta, desert. Our children enjoyed this tour better than the first one. All they did was relaxed in the crystal clear waters ate good food and did participated in the kid's area events. Also, the entertainment on the way back was really fun. I recommend Caletas to everyone.
Shout out to Chai, Ramon the bartender, Yari, (crew member and organized the Children's Area activities) Polo (helped with the lockers). And all the boat's crew members; Omar, Mervi (the captain) Barraza, Ediberto, Alejandro, Andrik...
Read moreOur excursion at the Outdoor Adventures was absolutely amazing! You'll see reviews about smelly equipment, or unsafe employees, suggesting females to do awkward things. That was NOT the case at all in our group. Our tour guides were Piña, Luis, Uli and Poncho. If it's important to you, their English was excellent, but honestly their confidence, attention to detail, and warm hearted humor would have been sufficient if they didn't speak very good English. You will feel extremely safe in their care. There was no judgemental attitude, but they are the authority, so if they feel your safety is compromised in anyway you MUST default to their good judgement. The Rollercoaster is the best part! Just be careful your neck, and hold your breath at the end! They do provide towels, and they have water stations along the way to keep you hydrated. The BBQ was DELICIOUS and the perfect end to everything. The adventure was amazing, but the tour guides, and Erick the photographer, made it VERY memorable, such amazing people. You absolutely MUST go of your considering this. We wanted all the memories so we got the full picture package. It came out to $207 usd total for 3 people, and they were FANTASTIC pictures! Erick is so good at capturing great moments throughout the whole tour. Also me and my party wore water shoes from Amazon, they were sufficient for the whole adventure, didn't slip at all. If you're walking on maybe man-made, wet, non-porous material you might slip. But there was nothing like that during your time here with them. My only advice as far as the activities is when you do the repel down on the wall. TRUST THE ROPE, and lean back. You want to keep those legs STRAIGHT LIKE BOARDS and just walk down. Of course they tell you all this, but fear has a way of creeping in. So please just trust the rope, it will hold you don't worry. I'm 230 lbs and the rope held me just fine, but I didn't straighten out and repelled not so gracefully lol. Enjoy if you go!! I would go again. Also bring some cash for tip at the end, they absolutely deserve it,...
Read moreAbsolutely the best way to spend a day in Puerto Vallarta, Extreme Adventure. Albeit the activity is about an hour north of the city, but you do meet up at the far side of the marina in town first. You can fit this into your cruise itinerary if your cruise has a late departure. We signed up for 1130 tour, actually left at 1145, and were back at 1830.
The adventure activity itself is about 3.5 hrs long and we burned about 1100 calories. After pickup it took about 1 hr 45mins to actually get into what was 15 mins of offroad vehicle driving through a dry riverbed which started the adventure. Gearing up/orientation followed by 12 ziplines with gear to carry like a pack, then a hike to a specialty zipline with different gear called Superman, a indoor skydive experience with a very fast waterslide at the end. Photo package sales ends the day with chips and salsa and an hour drive back to civilization with everyone dead tired. There is quite a bit of waiting between ziplines to catch your breath. The crew unclips you and gets you clipped up between lines. Our tour guide Tony and his crew Fer, Axel, Saul and Joya were spectacular and funny, which you need bc some of these activities can induce fear. Can't believe these guys do this 3 times a day and still bring positive energy to the group. Superhuman.
I will say though by the end once you get to Superman you kind of want it to be over. But don't skip Superman it was easily the majority favorite. The skydiving at the end and Offroad vehicle in the beginning seemed like odd choices to bookend the experience. Half of the group skipped the skydive and only 1/4 of us did the waterslide. I'll admit it was hard to breathe in the skydive and looks funner than it is FWIW. Superman is really where the...
