Food here was excellent and the service was great too. The waitstaff was very attentive. Had a reservation and showed up about 30 min early but was still seated right away. Place was almost full but still had some seating left that slowly filled up as we dined. The green chili sauce that came with the complimentary bread was excellent! Had just the right amount of spicyness to it. We also got the marinara risotti, another excellent dish, they don't skimp on the seafood, very fresh and abundant. Same with the tricolore con pollo rose, the sauce was excellent. The fried calamari was also very well done. Not too oily and had the right amount of crunch to it! Our family greatly enjoyed this experience. Came to around $70 usd, so not a cheap eat in Mexico by any means, but a good change from the daily mexican diet we've been having!

Wow times change! I never could have guessed that Portobello had to sell Breakfasts to stay competitive. But you know what? That’s the market. And I love it! On both sides of Portobello there are 2 breakfast restaurants that are always full. Yet portobello was empty, so for that sole reason I decided to give it a try. And was a delightful breakfast I had. The food was way better than the breakfast specialized restaurants on the sides, one of the bests French Toast and the chilaquiles were actually crunchy. The machaca was on another level, a great twist. The coffee wasn’t good tho. Service was expected was excellent. At the end it’s sad and evident that portobello is struggling in this new age, yet I wish them the best and hope to see them stay for many more years.

Let me start by saying that the wait staff were very attentive and the establishment was very nice since it's by a marina, but other than that the food was mediocre at best. Olive Garden (a chain Italian restaurant in the US) has better tasting Italian food than Porto Bello. The price of the food did not match what the chef threw out there for our consumption. The minestrone soup was not very good it lacked authentic Italian flavor. The pene pasta with olives that I ordered lacked flavor and was also bland and lacked the taste of an authentic Italian dish. My wife's dish was fish with a butter sauce, and puree of patoes with some vegetables was even worse than my dish. The fish was very soggy and bland, and the puree of potato was like a lump of tasteless mound of nothing. The only thing that was decent was the fried calamari. If you are expecting the ambiance and the place to match the quality and taste of the food , you will be highly disappointed. I don't mind paying top dollar for great and outstanding tasting food, but this place missed the spot for authentic Italian food. I wouldn't recommend eating at the Porto...

It was a beautiful evening my wife and I decided to walk in to this restaurant by the Marina. Had a bad experience at Porto Bello my wife ordered her pasta dish and after a few bites she noticed a black hair in her food the waiter immediately took her plate and came back in 5 min with a new plate of pasta. However she was now looking thru her food rather then eating she ate maybe 1/4 of that plate. No one came to ask us how the food was and when the bill came I asked to speak with the manager. When he came over he asked what I wanted so I told him the story and his exact words were “ what do you want me to do” I said you could comp her dish and his reply was how about I take off 10 percent off her dish and I replied no then he started saying well she ate most of her pasta then he offers OK 15 percent off her dish. Finally after more negotiations I stood up and said No you comp her meal. Then he huffed and puffed and finally got a new bill and there were no apology or anything I left there feeling like I did something wrong but I...

Nightmarish. I got really ill from ordering linguini frutti di mare. I dared to order seafood thinking this was the kind of place where they would serve fresh produce. To my disappointment the mussels were old. I noticed, too late, the foul aftertaste masked by the tomato sauce. I had never been so sick before. I had to cancel all my appointments and it cost me money, plus I lost a couple of regular clients. I vomited, had the chills, headache, sore muscles, sore joints. A day later after I thought was feeling better, I passed it to my wife. She had to cancel appointments as well. Lost money, too. I feel sick just thinking about pasta and tomato. Besides, the first two waiters who brought water and the menus were totally unprofessional, I couldn't understand if they were joking around or making fun of me. They made me feel very uncomfortable. I believe they should make sure that the food they serve is fresh because people's lives are at stake at the same time they would make their prices match their food....
