This lovely little park is looking better than ever. I've visited periodically from 2016-2019 and they have refreshed the plantings and tended them well. Evenings lately have often featured instrumental pop music covers on an electric guitar but in a playing style that gives them a sweetness and gentleness much appreciated by the acoustic bumpkin writing this. One sees martial arts practice, kids chasing dogs, dogs chasing dogs, dogs chasing kids, and other spontaneity. The sandwich stand on the southeast corner is famous, and not bad, though i go for corn and beans over wheat so i have only had two or three of their offerings in as many years. There are rental apartments on the north side (with gated, roofed parking spaces), a tri-generational nostalgic barbershop and a cultural centre on the east side, a string of restaurants and a hotel or two on the south side, and more apartments on the west of the square. The middle-eastern fusion restaurant on the northeast corner is popular for eating and people-watching.
