Small, but I've always liked the vibe. Just started shopping here regularly again. Unfortunately, one of the larger vegetable venders is a cheater. She let me choose items and then traded them for lesser quality items that she put in my bag (wrinkled chile poblanos and a broccoli about to go yellow). I let her know I'd never buy from her stand again. Luckily , I have several favorite vendors that are helpful and honest. A small market, but they have good representation. I get good quality of everything I am looking to buy. Just stay away from the creepy cheater with the fake smile! Make sure you are getting the items you picked out before they go into your bag. Except for her, I recommend...

This is a smaller market in Oaxaca but still offering a great selection of everything found at the bigger busier markets and still authentic. Get your fruits, breakfast, dinner and any other food need here as well as other basic items for everyday life in Oaxaca. Purses, clothing, utensils etc. Its also a pretty colorful visit and the multiple shop owners are very friendly. Totally worth a visit. For those wanting to try something traditional get a "Tlayuda with Tasajo" this is a really good dish with a bit of everything and portions are generous so even two...

I don't recommend it. Two different vendors lied to me here. I'm sure they thought that since Spanish is my second language, I'm just a tourist and not going to be a repeat customer. Well, they were right about one thing -- I'm definitely not coming back! One vendor sold sandwiches with ham, cheese, and lettuce, and told me they also contained avocados. Nope! Another vendor insisted I buy various panes dulces from her, and the one she told me that had chocolate inside had fruit...

This market sells everything you need to cook at home. We were able to get fresh fruits and veggies, tortillas (freshly made!), cheese, milk, coffee, eggs... you name it! You won’t find a lot of stands for souvenirs and such since this is more of a local market. We stayed near here and came almost every day to pick up essentials. They also have food stands where you can come get breakfast or lunch and it is very cheap! We got enchiladas and hot chocolate.

I frequent this market when i visit oaxaca city. If you come early in the morning, you can get very very good tamales. The ladies have frijole tamales for us vegetarians 🙏 then i buy some creamy salsas from the salsa lady...and fill up my bottle with carrot juice from the juice people 👍 You can also find tropical fruits, local eggs, tortillas.. and there are little restaurants to eat
