This is probably the best swimming Bay in the Huatulco area. It has great waves, but they vary enough depending on where you are along the beach that you can find relatively calm spots or spots with big waves. It also has a very soft slope once you get about 10 feet from the shore into the water, meaning you can walk a ways out before your feet can't touch the ground. The sand also gets much finer once you get to that point, so you won't find the ground moving as much in the big waves or have as much sand stirred up (and ending up in your pockets). The downside is that for people who aren't guests of the resorts, you have to enter by going to the trailer park then walking through a wooded swamp (that may or may not contain raw sewage) to access the beach. This is basically a scam by the resorts to close off access to what is legally public coastline. But either way it's worth it to get to the best beach in the area without having to pay $50-100 USD to get a pass at one of the resorts (not that that doesn't have it's perks, but if you don't want the drinks or food...
