I was kind of torn in my experience of this hotel. It started kind of badly with the smell of chlorine or some cleaning product in my room and the windows don't open at all. I wasn't expecting that. || Fortunately the smell went away, to be replaced by easy to hear sounds of everything that was going on in the hallway. The acoustics are just about the worst you'd ask for.. so much echo and eventually all ends up in the room. Fortunately in terms of outside the window stopped those noises and also fortunately I was in a part of the hotel that it was quiet at night. I was sure glad about that. || It's not the hotel's fault but even though it might say in the advertisement that it's minutes away from the beach and from the popular fifth avenue, that means about 10 minutes not 2 minutes and that makes a difference. || And the room itself although spacious was extremely basic. Yes, a comfy king size bed not that I needed the space but I definitely appreciated the comfiness. There was no safe to speak of even though they had me sign paperwork when I first came that they weren't going to be responsible for anyone stealing anything from my room. That kind of put me on edge. No mini fridge to speak of no glasses no pens no paper. I'm sure if I would have asked for those I would have gotten them at least it pans paper and glasses - - but those are things that should probably have been in the room to begin with. || Also -- and it's not a big deal but I'll mention it -- I'd asked for no housekeeping during my stay and sure enough housekeeping tried to do my place anyways. I left a sign in the room though and after that I don't think anyone else came. || The default water that's offered the free stuff tastes really really bad. I can't believe that's even an option I mean it's really bad. On the other hand the cafeteria has free water you can fill your water bottle with but of course I didn't realize that till a couple of days in and I had bought water from their selling area. || The staff were great and that's great although I'm kind of surprised it did not seem English was easy for anybody some less so and some more so. The breakfast buffet I actually quite enjoyed. || So, for the value, honestly I don't think I'd stay here again. I think are better places...

Also...

I made a reservation for my family while they were visiting Mexico and on the email it stated that they would have until 3 am to check in. They were at a wedding in another town and could not check in until later because of the distance. Since it was already midnight and they knew they were an hour away they called the hotel numerous times because Wyndham states that you can make special arrangements with the hotel directly if you plan to check in late. No one ever answered! No big deal they will be there before 3am.

They ended up getting a flat tire and it took forever to get help to fix it. Again, visiting from another Country. No one ever answered the front desk again. I called Wyndham directly and they tried calling…no one answered. My family gets there at 3:10am and are turned away and refused! Again, reservations already made for 2 rooms. They have been through a lot and stuck. The reservation department said they could not help me but to call in the morning and speak to Wyndham customer service directly. Ok, but what about my family? Luckily they found a nearby random hotel and just checked in. They have an elderly lady with them with health issues and had to deal with someone that first off never even answered at the front desk at all from 12am-3am. Not even when Wyndham reservations called. I’m sure this place is nice but I’m just annoyed because I’ve been to enough hotels all over the place to know that accommodations can be made. I’m just going to...

The hotel staff are always in a bad mood, they need to at least lighten up a bit because all of them seem really uptight about everything and they seem to charge for everything. The other day I asked if I can refill my water bottle because the had a jug of water by the dining area and I was met with "You have to buy a plastic water bottle" and didn't let me refill my water bottle. Not eco friendly at all. Also the air conditioner is really loud. You can hear almost everything in the hotel. The beds are also very loose and make a noise every time u lay on them or change sides. The pool is also super small compared to other hotel pools and isn't good at all for general relaxing. The internet is also super slow. Even with a LAN cord I was getting 150 ping on valorant. Very bad hotel. Very disappointed.

The Good: customer service, staff are genuine, safe, quiet, pool area, easy to navigate area, comfortable beds, air conditioning, hot water, coffee, wifi, morning breakfast. The Bad: Mold, building needs upgrading and looks really old inside, value is debatable Please throw out the old framed art, change the lamp shades, wash the curtains and walls. Dust and moisture curates mold and because the windows don’t open you need to rotate the fabrics often. Otherwise, this place is among the best places in Playa de Carma. I had a nice stay due to your fabulous staff with such kind natures. Well done HR (Human Resources)! I’ll also post photos of the awesome amenities. Please let me know when you have removed these items, I would love to come back.

I stayed here during a dive trip. I come to Playa a lot and tend to rotate places I stay. There was a discount for this place thru my airline. The building is a bit rundown but that's kind of what happens in Mexico. My room was always clean and it was actually very quiet at night. I liked the breakfast they had every morning. Also, the fact that I could have breakfast before 8:00 am was a miracle unto itself anymore. I need places that open at 6:00 am so I can eat before going to dive. In general, I had a decent stay. The only two things I didn't like was that there was no mini fridge or balcony. I usually need to store food and use balconies to help dry my dive gear. That was the big drawback for me personally.
