my tips.
start time or schedule. I had a hard time figuring times and transport out online until I called. the office for Vidanta opens at 11 am if u have questions.
I collected my tickets at the window. I used my US state driver's license and credit card. you need photo ID and the card you purchased the tickets with to collect your tickets. passport and US voting ID is OK too.
VIP, 6 pm or 915 pm show. I chose 6 pm. it's like 5000+ pesos for 5 star champagne/wine multi course dinner, service and the fantastic experience. transportation was not included if you buy direct from website outside of cancun. if in cancun i believe there is transport. I think I should've gone through my hotel because they could've added transport. In the end I paid 1200 pesos extra for transport and gave some tip. this price was hard to get honestly and only possible through my hotel. he waited and drove me around for 4 hours. most places I called offered taxi or van for 90 usd or 1800 pesos. this is both ways from PDC.
start time for VIP you can start lining up by 530 at the outside entrance, wooden deck to the theater. there is a nice restaurant/bar that you can wait in if you get there earlier. the resort is beautiful. menus are by Qr code. it doesn't really matter because it's assigned seating but there's less waiting for the pre show if you get there earlier. I like to be settled in.
from 6-7 for VIP, there's a special pre show 'experimental' expericence, then get seated for drinks, dinner and live music. the musicians are very lovely w talented violinist, harp (harpist?), drummer + singer. see photos.
7 to 820 is the main show. acrobatics galore. for vip they gave a warning that they were going to stop drink service around 740 or so? I read you can swap champagne for wine for free. they had coffee. some drinks you have to pay for so I'd ask.
I'd come a little hungry. so you can enjoy the food better.
not many transport options I tried to figure out collectivo/bus but I didn't have enough time and if you're dressed up etc. idk you'd be sweaty by the time you walk from the gate to the entrance. renting a car w insurance also an option.
vip was worth it. I was like at the 2nd tables from the front. some things were right behind me so maybe a little bit further back like 3rd to 5th set of tables would've been perfect. and cheaper.
I was told you can take non flash photos and videos less than a minute.
the reason I give 4 stars is I thought the plot or explanation was absent. the main actors like grandpa and Joya spoke about 4 bilingual sentences the entire show then just made like ooohs and aaahs and baby talk. I guess it doesn't matter. the sets and costumes were amazing. vip is so close the characters are literally right...
Read moreI really hope MANAGEMENT IS READING MY REVIEW AND THEN MAKES THE CHANGES RECOMMENDED. The website and their phone staff do not explain clearly the sequence of events. They say show up for the event at 9 pm. So our assumption was we will be seated by 9 pm. They made us middle aged disabled husband and my wife and teenage daughter wait in line at 85 degrees Fahrenheit HEAT, humidity and mosquitoes for 30 minutes before we could enter the air-conditioned theater. We arrived earlier at 8:15 pm so we could be on time. They sat us at 9:30 pm and then served an outstanding dinner with excellent service. The theater ac could be cooler especially in this summer heat. The show itself was very nice like any Cirque de Soleil production as we live in Las Vegas and Cancun. This is our 3rd time watching the show. But the check in process was terrible and they gave excuses that they want visitors showing up early in case of traffic delays or accidents???? Airlines say the departure time is 9 pm, means YOU must be at the airport, regardless of traffic or highway accidents, for exact departure at 9 pm. But this is a very common societal problem in Mexico and many third world countries as we travel all over the world. I hope Cirque de Soleil, Canada MANAGEMENT is reading this review. There were many older people in line just waiting in the heat, humidity and surrounded by biting mosquitoes and the staff didn't care and are not trained properly. They took their time checking everyone in as we waited in line for 30 minutes! Also the ticket box office couldn't find us on their computer system, which took another 15 minutes to get us checked in in the over 85 degrees Fahrenheit HEAT and mosquitoes nibbling on our legs. They should use their air-conditioned gift shop as a holding area and then escort the guests directly into the airconditioned theater. In the United States they first bring ALL guests, regardless of what you paid as a ticket into a conditioned lobby, and then scan your tickets and move everyone quickly to their seats. It makes for a pleasant experience. And the access for disabled people and elderly are a priority (this is hardly seen in Mexico and third world countries). I am a retired physician and I am saying if you want to move forward, management should listen to what I am recommending. Otherwise remain in a medieval age. We are residents of Mexico. Read moreWe opted for the dinner and show option
Pros: +) the dinner was amazing, especially if you are open to trying a wide variety of dishes. They were also able to accommodate gluten free dietary restrictions. They replaced items, versus just removing them or taking the flavor away.
+) the musicians during dinner were on point and created a great vibe to an already premium environment
+) the cirque show was entertaining as our expectations were set properly. This is a scaled down version of a typical cirque in the US, which we can confirm as we went to Kooza a week before.
Cons: -) if you opt for the meal you are on the clock the minute you get in line as they seat and serve people first come first serve. They also seat and serve all the people by tier of package. We didn’t get the VIP as we don’t drink alcohol, so we had to wait till all the VIP’s were admitted before we were admitted even though we were close to being the first in line. Why is this important? Because we ended up with about 45-minutes to eat a 3-course (4 if you count the bread arrangement) meal before the show started. To really enjoy this wonderful meal we needed at least 90-mins.
-) we didn’t appreciate all the upselling on-site, especially with the prices they are charging for the dinner and show. For example they blocked off the best photo op location so people couldn’t enter and take their own pictures. Their photographer wasn’t even there when we arrived, so the space was just blocked off, but we saw them when we were leaving and they were...
