J C J van Speijk Lighthouse — Attraction in Bergen

Beautiful and iconic monument of Egmond. Jan van Speijk was the captain of a Dutch gunboat during the Belgium Revolt. When a storm damaged his ship, he was forced to sail to the hostile harbor of Antwerp. There Van Speijk was demanded to surrender and hand over all his goods. I cant stop talking about this lighthouse in Egmond aan Zee Netherlands. We found it opens very few hours in the weekend. Also its still looks like working, we observed the light switching on and off in the evening hours. The views to capture across the coast line is very wonderful here. I hope to visit this lighthouse but we missed the timing. It was just 1 week stay here . We managed to visit...

Viele Male vor dem Leuchtturm gestanden und erhofft, er wäre offen und man könnte hinaufsteigen. Ständig aber geschlossen und keinerlei Information für Besucher ausgehängt. Das ist unprofessionell. Am 31.08.25 endlich die Möglichkeit gefunden, den in der Sommersaison ab Juli geöffneten Leuchturm zu besteigen. Mit Wartezeit muss man wohl an diesen Tagen, insbesondere Sonntags wegen des Urlaubverkehrs rechnen. Als ich endlich die 127 Stufen der engen Treppe bis zur Aussichtsplattform bestiegen hatte, war ich ob der dreckigen Fenster schon etwas enttäuscht. Alle die nach oben steigen, haben doch die Motivation, schöne Fotos zu machen. Verstehe nicht, das auch der dort nur beobachtende junge Mann sich nicht mal einen Putzlappen greift und die Fenster an den zwei Tagen der Öffnung putzt. Ansonsten sicher schöne Aussichten auf Egmond...
