Leaving Ukraine was tough, and starting over had its challenges. But experiencing discrimination after being promised fair treatment was really sad. Holland is known for being peaceful, but there's still racism, like in Haarlem. Even though we were welcomed warmly, discrimination ruined a simple lunch. Asking for separate bills shouldn't make people angry, but it did. One worker said no, while another said yes, making us wonder if we were being treated differently. A peaceful question turned into an argument, with a boss unfairly telling us to leave. We just want to be treated the same, not special, especially in a place that talks about being inclusive. People who talk about tolerance should show it in their actions too. Would I recommend this place to any other foreigners? No way. That cook or owner, I think, was so rude, yelling at us so rudely and scarily that if we were there with man, have hard time to believe he would behave like that! We felt unsafe and scared. A beautiful forest both in winter and summer. I used to drive through it everyday. There are allot of flowers and mushrooms growing in the area. And if you walk in far enough you will find places where you dont see any roads, people and dont hear cars. Benches and garbage cans are splattered throughout the forest following the (mostly) dirt roads. Most people that you will meet will be walking their dog. There are allot of special little things to be found in the forest like a stone bench, fallen trees, mushrooms, birds, a monument with fountain, a pancake restaurant, a petting zoo with lllamas, a musical building made from see through material in the shape of a dome, a big white building that you can see from a far because it has a sightline running into the forest. My friend and I had an absolutely lovely experience. From start to finish, the staff were friendly, kind and provided excellent and efficient service for our afternoon tea. The atmosphere was lovely and nice and peaceful. It was stormy weather 😢 So we literally felt like we had passed through the wind and rain and finally arrived at a warm & cozy lovely cottage in the park. We ordered the high-tea in advance for celebrating my birthday. The tea pot water was refilled as many times as we wish, and the high tea was excellent and outstandingly delicious.
