Museum Heerenveen — Attraction in Heerenveen

I never leave bad reviews. I love museums, but for €7 it is much too expensive. Took me 5 minutes to walk around. Nothing is in English- not an issue if you have neat exhibits- and the lady at the front was too happy talking to her friend than to give a tea or coffee. It is a lovely place, the two galleries in the front are free and open to everyone, exhibiting modern and abstract work for sale. This are constantly changing. To see the rest of the museum there is an entry fee but it is well rewarded with the nice display of different collections public and private. All of them related to the beautiful city...

Divers museum waarin veel te ontdekken is. (Natuurlijk: persoonlijke) hoogtepunten: de kleine schilderijen van Jan Mankes, het studeervertrek inclusief bibliotheek (achter gazen tralies!) van Domela Nieuwenhuis, de geschiedenis van Heerenveen (met zowel de echte kicksen van Abe Lenstra, als de door Jopie Huisman geschilderde versie) plus de geschiedenis van Oranjewoud.
