A la zona del Zuidhavenpoort, o port vell hi ha un complex monumental amb diversos edificis com la Sint-Lievensmonstertoren, Torre de Sant Livin, que dóna una imatge completament pintoresca al poble. Al costat de la torre, al davant del port, hi ha una escultura anomenada Beproefd maar niet gebroken que recorda el desastre de les inundacions del 1953 i que representa un nen amagant-se al darrera de la seva mare.
