Bootverhuur Giethoorn — Attraction in Steenwijkerland

I don’t recommend this place to rent a boat in Giethoorn. The boat renting person is unprofessional. He started the time even before we get on to the boat and does not provide the proper instructions. He rushed us to start the boat and the place is very narrow and no time for us to understand to ride the boat. The staff person took the boat from us in 30mins as we are unable to ride the boat. We really had a bad experience with the boat rental. I would recommend to book some other boat rentals which are at the beginning of the village and more...

Außerordentlicher Service! Wir hatten online über den zentralen Buchungsservice ein Boot gemietet und bekamen leider keine Bestätigungsmail. Waren trotzdem vor Ort und konnten vermittelt werden. Zeitlich war es relativ flexibel, geht vermutlich nur zur entsprechenden Jahreszeit. Nach ein paar Minuten auf dem Boot hat uns ein aggressiver Schwan angegriffen und zur gleichen Zeit ist der Motor des Bootes ausgefallen. Wir hatten panische Angst und wussten uns kaum zu helfen, da weder andere Personen, noch Rettung in Sicht war. Nach etwas herumprobieren konnten wir die gefiederte Gefahr bändigen, indem wie das Boot hin und her geschaukelt haben. Nun blieb trotzdem das Problem mit dem Motor. Hatten uns von später vorbeikommenden Touristen abschleppen lassen, die Nummer auf der vorher übergebenen Karte gewählt und wurden kurze Zeit später mit einem neuen Boot überrascht! Wir konnten ungestört die Fahrt beenden, was keinesfalls erwartet oder nötig war nach diesem Erlebnis. Service war demnach sehr rücksichtsvoll, wenn auch anfangs sehr holprig....

We asked for the price once before deciding to rent a boat. The staff said it's €20/hour for a small boat. After a while we went back and would like to rent a boat. Another staff told us it's €25/hour now. Not only the price is so untransparent, that staff even poured coffee to the river....
