Small fort/museum with 3 floors. The first floor has a small reception where you pay an entry ticket of 5 euros pp, and a guide gives a short introduction to the history of the port and the town. Then you are free to walk to the upper floors, where you can read posters/information on the walls and visit a few points of interest (like the holes from where oil was dropped into intruders from the fort).
Not much to see inside, but the history is interesting and for the price, worth a visit.

Read moreGood place to visit! It's very close to the Zwolle Railway Station. It is present very close to the road. The usual traffic and pedestrians movement is present everytime at the Sassenport. Also, there are many company offices near the monument. There are doors which open on few days a year and the stairs lead to the top of the Sassenport.
