A massive walking/running:cycling nature reserve and plenty of space for dog walking too. Love that there’s a swimming hole under the bridge that our dog loves! There is a stick library there and a forest walk that will make your doggy walk interesting too. A great place for dogs to be social as well. There is also a hose in the very nice car park where you can give your furby a drink or wash him down if they get dirty. Lots to see here and very uplifting - fresh air and nature, a duck pond and lots of areas for your dog to run and play. It’s our boys most favourite place since he was a puppy. One thing that stands out is how friendly other dog...

Waiatarua is probably Auckland's best dog friendly park. Three kilometres of easy grade gravel paths for walking or cycling, plenty of open spaces for picnics, including a few tables and bench seats. Waiatarua is also a large wetland area that's being planted with native trees to encourage birds and there's pest trapping done by volunteers. So seeing a variety of ducks and pukekos is assured, and generally bird-watching is good for an urban park. (Dogs must be under control and kept out of wetland areas). There is a playground, with a skateboard half-pipe and basketball court, and also a public toilet beside the Grand...

Refreshing and beautiful flat land for a great walk with our four legged friend. We have recently noticed some cigarettes butts left in the crevices of wooden benches placed near the entrance of the park. We were quite stunned to see several cigarette butts in every crevice of the heavy wooden bench and realized how easily this could start a fire in this weather which would totally destroy this beautiful and much loved park. Smoking should be banned if smokers are being this careless...

I love that this place is so welcoming to dogs! They provide water for everyone, a dog pool, and toilet. The facilities are mostly well-maintained. Unfortunately, there are a few irresponsible dog owners whose dogs are not trained or controlled, leading to dog fights and even attacks on people. On top of that, the place is not very clean, so be prepared to give your dog a shower afterward.

Went for a stroll through the dog friendly Waiatarua Reserve this morning and had a great time, so many happy four legged friends around for my dog Ziggy to meet and greet, there are some great tracks to walk around and we even found this playground which had a basketball hoop and skate ramp! Will be back here for sure. James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales
