I have been coming here for years ever since i was in high school i was disgusted to learn the racist behavior portraited today!!! After being a loyal customer for 10+ years today i turn my New World Cap in.

My mother had and encounter at the self service checkouts she went first at the self serve and i went 2nd in two different payment transaction and for some odd be known reason i must have chucked my mums reciept in that bin where the reciepts go. THE SUPERVISOR WAS STARING AT THE SCREEN where you can see that customers are scanning the correct items etc for security. As i needed her assistance i called her over and my mum and i were chatting away. She turns to the trolley and says “Did you pay for that Milk” to my mother. For reference my mother is dark skinned Māori. She says yes in a different transaction but like i said i accidentally chucked her reciept in the bin. This SUPERVISOR calls down the security and tells them check the cameras for us 2 shopping around DOESNT EVEN GIVE THE OPPORTUNITY to ask for other proof but WE PROVIDE IT which was my mums banking app on her phone proving she had paid for her items before me. When i asked her to go back in the machine and check the customer before mines transaction as it was my mothers she was adamanet she couldnt and wanted the cameras checked.

“A whole scene escalated as i was furious your store had accused my mother wrongfully”

Your beautiful security escorted us out with no further inqury as we had proof that we werent stealing the items we had. Id like to give a big aroha to that guard she was amazing and your store ought to be ashamed that your guards do better work then your staff on the floor with resolving issues.

I would like a formal verbal apology to my mother for your Supervisors disgusting behaviour at your store. You are a supervisor and to portrait such bad managerial behavior to your peers who look up to you...

I came earlier this week and i had to park all the way in the very back of the parking lot and it was pouring rain with my kids and baby stroller. As i approached the main entrance I saw one of your new world staff got out of their parked car on the ‘Family Parking’. It was a silver LDV T60 UTE. I did not get a plate number but the audacity of staff stealing the family parking. Very unacceptable and I was genuinely very pissed and your staff prioritises family parking to staff. When I got to the checkout the same staff that parked in the family parking was my packer. On her name tag says ROSHINI. She never greeted me, never looked at me, never said thank you. Very loud chatting with another supervisor. Laughing and giggling. Is this the type of people you hire?

My recent encounter with customer service at this supermarket was disappointing. Roshini appeared disinterested and unhelpful, making it challenging to get assistance when needed. Witnessing majority of the checkouts did not have a packer and the staff with checkered shirts were all laughing and giggling together at the self checkout just really made my blood boil. I placed my concern on the friendly checkout staff and she mentioned that this happens all the time. This store needs to do better. Moreover, the other supervisor was unfriendly and showed a lack of courtesy during the checkout process. It's disheartening when basic expectations of a pleasant shopping experience are not met, and the indifferent attitude of the supermarket's staff left me with a negative impression of their customer service....

Most impressed on my first quick visit to check out the store & compare to Pak n Save & Woolworths which I have shopped at on my arrival back home in the country to live. Did my first big shop yesterday, loved the deli, I worked as a deli Assistant for 5 years in Perth & the only wee downfall was the slicer that was in view & incidently used when I asked for fresh cut luncheon ( have to get used to calling it that again lol ) could have been wiped down. Staff were friendly, got a kia ora whaea as I came into the fruit & veg dept. Witnessed the manager being on hand supporting staff & ensuring customers were being looked after. Shelves well stocked apart from bread. The sun shining in on the beautiful cakes & meat made me cringe a little, but maybe that's because I have come from a very hot & dry climate where the sun is your enemy lol. Checkout staff were friendly. I will definitely make this my #1 go to grocery store from now...
