Waihi Beach is a beautiful coastal paradise located on the North Island of New Zealand, offering a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and stunning natural beauty. Whether you're looking to unwind, explore, or enjoy outdoor activities, Waihi Beach has something for everyone. The beach itself is pristine, with golden sand stretching for kilometers and crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and sunbathing. It's an excellent spot for families, as the water is generally calm, making it ideal for children to enjoy. The beach is also a popular location for surfers, with consistent waves that attract both beginners and experienced surfers alike. For those who enjoy walking, the long stretch of coastline provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxing beach stroll, with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. One of the highlights of Waihi Beach is the nearby Waihi Beach Surf Life Saving Club, which offers a safe environment for swimmers and provides a sense of community. The club also hosts various events throughout the year, including surf lifesaving competitions and beach activities. In addition to its beach activities, Waihi Beach is surrounded by lush, scenic landscapes. The nearby Orokawa Bay is a hidden gem, accessible via a short but rewarding hike through native bush, offering a secluded and peaceful spot for picnicking or just relaxing. For those interested in exploring further, there are several other walking and biking trails in the area, as well as local cafes and shops to enjoy after a day in the sun. Overall, Waihi Beach is a perfect destination for anyone looking to enjoy a beautiful, laid-back beach experience. Its combination of natural beauty, outdoor activities, and welcoming community make it a must-visit spot on the North Island. Highly recommended!

This was a nice beach to visit. It was not too crowded when we went which was a plus. There’s a look out that is just a short walk up a hill, but that’s a bit overgrown. We got up early to watch sunrise the next day, but the weather didn’t agree with us, so maybe check the weather before you go.

Nice beach to have fun with the whole family. The beach is patrolled by Lifeguards down the end by the Surf Club. Beach is fairly flat and you can walk out quite far and be amongst the waves. It can be a little rough for the smaller ones when it is windy. Beach Access from multiple locations

I just love all beaches. The sand is mixed light beige and silver and the water is shallow to about 20metres out at half way tide. Full tide with waves is sublime for boogie board. I wouldn't say this a great spot to surf but some do. Full sun orientation sunrise to sunset. Shops and takeaway nearby, park and reserves all along the coast. Everything you...

Lovely beach with good waves for beginner surfers or kids on the boogie board. Stretches for kilometres and well-stocked by a surf lifesaving club at the northern end and a cafe in the middle section. Perfect for sand play, walks on the beach, shell-gathering, and fun times with family...
