A Magical Escape at Tasman Holiday Camp!

We recently spent three amazing nights at the Tasman Holiday Camp and let me tell you, it was pure magic! (Note to self: next time, book the fourth night free—what a steal!)

This campground has two sides: the main side with a fantastic pool and cozy TV rooms where you can catch cool family movies (just ask at the reception). Saturday popcorn sessions for the kids? An absolute blast and a perfect break for parents! 🍿 The pool was incredibly well-maintained, thanks to Marty, who deserves a standing ovation for his hard work and positivity. Marty's bright smile and can-do attitude were contagious, making everyone feel like they were in a different world! 🌍

Just a short 1 hour and 20-minute drive from Auckland, the campground offers power on-site, a super clean kitchen with fridge and freezer, a gaming room, and hot showers (and I mean hot and full-on, no drip-drip business). 🚿

A short stroll over the road takes you to another part of the campground with three spots offering stunning Seaviews. Even if you don't snag one of those, you can still hear the soothing waves. 🌊 The late arrival support and extended checkout were hassle-free—no angry words or faces here! The staff, despite the hard work, were genuinely happy and passionate about making holidaymakers happy. Special shoutout to Marty for his dedication—you're a gem! 💎

We also caught an unforgettable sunrise (we nearly made it in time, but it was totally worth it!). The walk to the waterfalls was an adventure—make sure to put the coordinates in beforehand as there's no reception. Plan for at least 4 hours as the path has seen better days due to weather. When you think you've missed it, just keep walking! The stone slide halfway through was small but so much fun! 🏞️

The beach was a slice of paradise with crystal-clear water and fish jumping through the waves with us. Super clean and surrounded by bars and restaurants, you won't miss out on anything. The Secret Garden is a must-try—if you're not into Mexican food, just enjoy the happy hour from 5-6pm! 🌮🍹

Are we coming back? You bet we are! Tasman Holiday Camp is perfect for young ones, babies, teenagers, and anyone in need of a break. Can't wait for our next adventure here!

PS Feeding the eel pets was amazing ! Off season animals allowed after request !

Camp site is spaces and sauna cost 9$ for 40 min ! Spa pool is hot , slide for fun...

Sadly after a 2 night stop over we had to pull out of this beautiful Holiday Park nestled in a picturesque location. Marie was awesome and Kelly could not have been more helpful. The facilities were very clean, conveniently located and refreshing. The spa and heated pool looked inviting, even for the middle of Winter. A must see is WB Quack Quack the duck who guards the red walk bridge over Eel Creek. He can be hand feed bread, so to the swarm of Long Finned Eels who reside in the creek below the bridge. Unfortunately the weather wasn't our friend during our stay and the premium motorhome sites on the beach side had washed into the Eel Creek after recent servere rains. Marie offered us a paved site close to the main facilities which was superb. She also offered me the use of the large fish smoker. I was planning on catching a brace from the Beach but the local tackle shop which was open when we arrived was closed the day I wanted to go fishing. Loved this place and would highly recommend a stay. One other activity I would recommend is the walk over the Bluff at the North end of the Waihi Beach into the hidden Orokawa Beach. It was a little slippery in the wet but well worth the effort. Thanks again for a very...

The park and location are amazing! What it has to offer is all you could ask for and it was so fun knowing we're were arriving to a place that looked like it oozed fun! However the rooms left me feeling less than impressed. It was only over night so we thought a standard cabin with shared bathroom would be okay. We arrived early when cleaners were still around, it's quiet season so not much work for them so to find the shared bathrooms that we had to ourselves feel icky wasn't a vibe. Maybe they just wet every surface and left it to air dry... But everything was just wet and not cause of weather. Speaking of surface.... Every surface in my cabin left my wet wipes black! 🤢 Moldy blinds... Very unclean cutlery draws!

I've had my time in accommodation and that wasn't accommodating.

The staff were kind and helpful but having to spend time cleaning, before you're comfortable enough to settle in the "clean" room you walked into isn't the best.. Especially when paid for.

Granted it was a cheap room however hygiene shouldn't be reflected in the cost. The more expensive rooms looked cleaner so maybe we'll give it another try but that's kinda stink to know if you get a cheap room, you get cheap...

Tasman Holiday Parks - Beachaven Very close to Waihi beach, free internet, kids TV room, powered campsites, laundry, spacious kitchen, and most of all dog friendly. Bring your canine friends. There is the Kaimai-Mamaku forest nearby. There is a small mountain that takes an hour to climb return if you're feeling adventurous. There is a TV by the kitchen and I tried the HDMI ports to try chrome casting and all 3 ports didn't work. There are go-carts for hire at $10/hr which I think is a bit much considering bikes in Auckland can be hired for $20/day. Sauna is free an hour and the hot tub is $30/hr for 2 people Each site is big enough to accommodate a large family tent and a car. It has running water. Toilets and kitchen are well maintained. The BBQ grill has 4 burners but I can get only one of them to light. Generally it's a pleasant campsite with friendly staff

This is a well managed and maintained, fairly large park comprised of sites and cabins that has added a number of additional buildings that have taken all available open space and squeezed guests far too closely. Comfort has been compromised. Compared to our stay 14 years ago, things have lost their appeal. Very disappointed. This time we booked a Beachside site that is described as being only steps from the beach and the map depicts a beachfront view. Rather, these Beachside sites have a keyhole view of the waves, no view of the beach and camping sites have been built with cabins having the most minimal of parking and clearance. The dump station now completely blocks all entry and exit when in use. Cars and campers have a nearly impossible time maneuvering the narrow lanes, assigned parking and sites.
