Waihi Beach — Attraction in Bay of Plenty

Waihi Beach offers a perfect blend of relaxation and stunning natural beauty. When we visited, the beach had a peaceful vibe, making it an excellent spot to unwind and enjoy the scenery. The overcast weather during our visit added a moody charm to the view, though we could imagine how spectacular it would look on a sunny day.

Despite the chilly water—definitely freezing for us—we were amazed to see others swimming and enjoying the waves. The dedication of beachgoers made the experience feel lively and fun. While we skipped a swim, we loved strolling along the shoreline and taking in the serene atmosphere.

Waihi Beach is a fantastic destination, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and scenic beauty for tourists or kiwi's. The beach is expansive, with golden sands ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and long walks. Beyond the beach, don't miss the incredible viewpoint! Accessible via the northern end of the beach. The view points treats to breathtaking panoramic vistas of the entire coastline, the vast Pacific Ocean, and the lush surrounding landscape. Third time in this beach and enjoying every visit. We found another entrance where there is less people with a smaller parking lot. But it has showers and bbq places. A nice playground completed the scene. The new area is still good, the one by the rescue group. I didn’t know, but there are nice trekking trails on the left side, from 3.5k to 9.5k! Good waves today, not too back. I counted 5 little streams crossing the beach. Next time I’ll bring some meat to make a nice bbq...
