Ashburton Art Gallery — Attraction in Canterbury

Great place to know about the history and culture, I have talked to staff and came to know about the different exhibitions and they bring something new after every three months which is good for locals to keep going there,

I have posted some photos of inside to give an idea, what you can expect in this art gallery but there is a lot more to see and read through.

There is no entry fee but you will be very thankful to donate as how u can.

There is a plenty of public parking (mobility parking as well) on both sides of building. And there is a lift available to go to...

I've been itching to visit this gallery on several occasions when passing through Ashburton. I finally made it, to find the set-up for 2 new exhibitions under way. Very helpful gallery staff came over to explain, directed me to the Rodin sculpture, and invited me to view the paintings for an exhibition due to open that evening. Very impressed with the friendly service, lovely gallery space and gift shop. Worth breaking the journey to visit, and the Ashburton gardens nearby are...

This gallery is the jewel of Mid-Canterbury, with great spaces for exhibitions that are accessible (elevator included), a fantastic arty gift shop (on upper level), and shared spaces for educational workshops.
