Triangle Espresso — Restaurant in South Island

Had lunch here while in Ashburton on the recommendation of a sibling who goes here when in town. Laid back but well executed ambience feels relaxing even though it's busy.

Update: went and ate again in November 2024 and had the same as last time and everything was as good as ever!

Had the corned beef hash with a fried egg. I was very (and most pleasantly) surprised just how good it was - it was a real cut above my expectations. Dish was loaded with well fried corned beef, potatoe chunks also fried and came with veges and a great bed of wilted spinach in a large bowl, the spunach really lifted this dish considerably. I'm not a big spinach fan. But this combo worked so well here that I'm having second thoughts about spinach in general - and also thinking when I can next revisit for another dish to try. We visit Ashburton often to see our daughter, but this was the first time we have been to Triangle Espresso. This is going to be one of our go to places from now on!! Firstly, the service was exceptional. We were warmly greeted, the service was friendly and efficient. While we didn't take photos, the food was beautifully presented and delicious! We ordered the granola, breakfast bowl and a couple of scones (puffs). The food tasted as good as it looked. The coffees were perfect too. My daughter and I noticed how beautifully Triangle Espresso have presented themselves too - the cafe is decorated tastefully with stunning artwork, plants, and clean, trendy furnishings. Absolutely 5 star everything at Triangle. I ordered a wonderful tasty avo smash today with asparagus and bacon and in my forgetfulness forgot to ask if it was dressed with pesto (I can't have pine nuts). The amazing staff took the dish back an prepared another sans pesto at NO CHARGE!
