Been here a few times only because don’t know where else to buy fresh seafood on a Sunday. Fish n Chips = Mediocre. First time they forgot our chips, the length of time it takes this lot to put out 1 order is hilarious so didn’t wait and no refund. Second time we asked for under done but they obviously can’t cater to Māori cause it was anything but underdone, least they remembered the chips. . Cost = Not bad. Not great. a pot of Kina and oysters plus 4 gurnard and a scoop of chips = $70. If I knew of another seafood shop in Hamilton I’d happily go there. Def not loyal to this place, their service could be quicker (fncs), and friendlier. Pic: NOT UNDERDONE!!!!!!! Edit: when we got home and opened the oysters they were unbelievably SMALL & tasted m/smelt like mud. My partner has NEVER not eaten oysters but hei aha first time for everything 😂

Drove all the way from Auckland to Hamilton just to buy us some seafood from here. To my delight, it has everything I wanted to get, except the staff was not very friendly. They just looked at us with no welcome or even a smile. We spent almost $500 in-store & even hung around for almost 10 mins waiting for our cooked meal and still any slight of appreciation for shopping with them. Well, we called out with a BIG THANK YOU before we left. We only got a stare...oiaue🤦‍♀️ A BIG THANK TO A KIND CUSTOMER WHO WALKED IN AND HE HELD THE FRONT DOOR FOR US AS WE WERE CARRYING OUR BOX OF SEAFOOD OUT.

My go to fish n chip store. Fresh fish and fisherman basket is worth it ! I’ve tried ringing them on Friday /Saturday nights so I don’t have to wait 15-25mins. But no use, they don’t pick up during busy hours, have to walk in. However the last time I’ve been here, the fish of day was awful - fish was super chewy and bouncy. Next time I’ll ask fish of the day before ordering, but otherwise it has been good !

Within 3 months I came here for the seafood boil bag and first time I had a look there was only 1 bag left at the bottom of the freezer and it looked like it had been there for a while because everything was falling apart so I left disappointed they should have taken it out and restocked but never mind I went back again the next month and still not restocked and the same seafood boil bag was at the bottom of the freezer? Like OMG!! Yuck put me right off! Anyway I ended up ordering fish and chips and oh my! Waited nearly a hour for old tasting fish cooked in old burnt oil yuck! Chips tasted the same!! The Asian lady that cooked it seems to think she’s a top notch cook but having food like that and waiting nearly a hour was ridiculous and upsetting! I also got the fry bread that tasted like burnt old oil yuck! Never ever again! Anyone reading this is best to go to bakery 88 for fry bread! Now that’s what you call...

Gave this place high praise as my Nana would buy our seafood from here. First time I went without her and tried the takeaways I really enjoyed every moment and knew I'd comeback. 2nd time lastnight I tried the takeaways i confirmed with the lady after paying if the fish was snapper she confidently agreed. Come home to find out it wasn't snapper. I ordered 4 fish and received 5 which revealed the fact they knew and thought it was okay because they gave an extra fish which was not snapper either. A person i went with told me later on they explained there was no snapper during his purchase but lied to me to pass a sale. I would've just ordered heaps of oysters instead if that was the case & been happy as i was coming in. I'm not angry just upset that you think its okay. In future don't treat people like this just because you can not all customers are bad. If only you knew how excited I would get coming...
