If you're chasing organic produce, there are a couple of great market stalls to make a run for. Six toed fox Organics is one, and Abundant Backyard organics is another. There are other smaller organic stalls, but hardly worthy of your time. Forget organic coffee - you'll have to drive your hybrid hippie kombi to the Mount for anything decent. I had to drive to Huckleberrys to get organic fruit, as Abundant Backyard and Six toed stalls don't sell any. Definitely worthy of an early start on your Saturday morning- who cares about your hangover ... get some high quality greens in you and get the detox going!

If you like farmers markets, then it's suitable. Perhaps some stalls haven't returned back as there aren't that many farm produced. More stalls selling food than farm produced. However some of the farm products are really very fresh like free range eggs and avocadoes. Won't take you too long to walk around. Parking is easily to find but may need to walk around 100-200 steps.

Beautiful market with plenty of fresh produce. The stalls are run by growers who know their product and love to share their story. Eftpos is mostly available and you can withdraw cash for a $2 fee. Meats, veges, breads, cheeses, fruits, baked goodies too. Great place to stop by for a chilled and friendly Saturday morning.

Lots of interesting stands that have fresh foods like eggs, tomatoes, and oranges. There are plenty of prepared foods including pies, grilled peppers, and even food for cat & dogs. There are usually 2 coffee stands on either side which are always busy. Everyweek there is a different musical group playing tunes for all of our enjoyment. Its a lovely place.

The only issue is more of a social one and that is every gate into the farmers market is guarded by beggers. Its certainly uncomfortable seeing them every week. But NZ simply isn't taking care of our people. We need universal basic income now more than ever so that no person in NZ will ever "need" to beg the gov or its citizens for money. As UBI is NOT tested like the current WIC system which is really horrible.

UBI will reduce crime, reduce homelessness, and...

It’s pretty small, a couple of local businesses including a nut butter/granola, kombucha, dried mushrooms and healthy sweet treats mixed in with 2-3 bakeries, 2 meat delis, 2-3 food stalls, free range eggs, coffee carts and small fruit/veggie stands.

Not much variety if you’re looking to try a variety of foods (eg. like Matakana Markets) but good enough for a short trip in you live locally/in the area. Fruit and vegetables are at great prices...
